i've mentioned it in a few threads, but i'd like to make it a thread of it's own.. i'm going to make the prediction the gb will schedule a new meeting once a month, starting in jan 2016, for watching the jw broadcasting program.
at the moment it's up to each cong to organize a viewing, but soon the gb will take over the arrangements.. i make this assumption based on the fact that they know that a substantial quantity of pubs are not tuning in every month.. by scheduling a meeting once a month, it's easier for the gb/elders/organisation to gauge how many people are watching, and to make sure everyone is fully indoctrinated with what the gb are saying.
it will also keep the rank and file busy busy busy.. if i was a cult leader, that's what i would do.
Today jw's have less and less meetings and they are of shorter duration (thank gawd), it reminds me of the scripture that the dubs used to get all of us to attend the endless string of meetings.
Hebrews 10: 25 " not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the MORE so as you see the day drawing near."
Well the end must not be drawing near as we meet less and less!
once a month about 15 to 20 elderly jw publishers would meet at the kingdom hall and one elder was assigned to set up the system so they could view jw broadcasting.
these publishers were long time pioneers, former elders, and long time publishers who know nothing about computers or the internet.
they are the last batch of those expecting the generation that saw 1914 or understood it--- to not die off.

back in the early 70s, right before 1975 we had about 7 or 8 thousand professed anointed.
cant remember the exact number.
but at every convention we were told that the end is close ---because---the number of anointed is getting smaller and smaller.
They are the offspring of previously "anointed" ones that are waiting in 'limbo' to find out if they are really "anointed" or not. Kinda of like "overlapping anointed".

so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.
only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.
he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.
Yes when I resigned 6 years ago (after being out mentally for years before that), the BOE asked me to just take a little "time off" from responsibility and rethink my decision. I said 'no thanks' so then they offered me a MS position and again I said 'no thanks'.
I truly believe that hundreds of elders would welcome being removed because they know that they are slinging bs in the congregation and it really stinks. Real life is-------well real and full of freedom!

incredibly, fred franz once announced at a district convention: "yesterday a sister approached me and said, brother franz, why do we have to keep our children up so late just so they can attend the meetings?
i responded sister ***, would you rather have a tired child or a dead child?".
*cue rapturous applause*.
Franz was a nut job as we have all discovered so everything he said is "old light" from a dying "generation" of blow hard, self righteous, sob's who ran the borg for decades.
We had a DO back in the 80's in the Fremont, CA area named Yasko. He was a short, beefy, boneheaded sob. Very pious sucker. So in one of his talks at our circuit assemblies, he talks about disciplining children of which he had exactly NONE. But he made it very clear to the audience, "just because I've never laid an egg, that doesn't mean I don't know what to do with it". Yes he really said that! What a smug mf'er.

honestly, they really have nothing going for them except that they are in an exclusive club.
they are in a better place than anyone else.
they have it over everyone else because of their superiority.
It sure made me feel special and elite. Until I realized how utterly stupid it is to think that your religion along has all the truth. TTATT make us feel better because we realize who we really are.
