1) jehober didn't hear millions of prayers or
2) jehober wants jw's to be 'persecuted' in Russia, or
3) jehober just don't like Russian people, or
4) shit happens and there aint no jehober!

so jah can build a broadcasting studio in record time, provide a cool summer so the new bibles can be printed on time without the presses overheating, but cant deliver his people in russia?!.
if jehovah is going to allow it what good are millions of letters and prayers then?

i was wondering what the view jehovah witnesses and the bible and tract society had on medical cannabis?
i remember as a kid reading in the reasoning book that marijuana was bad and smoking it caused cancer and was worse then cigarettes.
as more reach comes out we are leaning marijuana can cure certain forms of cancer!
The medical benefits of marijuana are well know today. It can help people live a better life in many cases. But, as with the incredibly stupid blood prohibition of the incurably ignorant borg, jw's will be prohibited from it's beneficial use due to archaic thinking.
But as with blood, I do believe that jw's can accept marijuana fractions! So if the current medical benefits "overlap" the old 'getting high' benefits, it's a matter of conscience! Or something like that.

this was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.
The thing that was really different for me about the last 3 or 4 memorials is, I didn't really give a sh*t if I was there or not. I go only for my wife. It was just 5 years ago that I gave the Memorial talk to some 350 in attendance at our local high school. I have to admit that I deviated greatly from the wt outline because it was so friggin' boring. I resigned as an elder shortly thereafter. Thank you Jesus!

what i noticed during the memorial is the over organised ritual aspect.
for a non jw is must be hard to follow.. for me, i noticed that during the memorial there is no attention for the historical jesus and the historical events.
it's all about the kingdom arrangement with it's central point, the governing body of jw.. do you noticed this also?.
I agree with all the comments so far. It really is such a sad demise of something that probably all of us, at one time, thought of as a very special event. It's become such a mundane ritual that most jw's hardly even talk about it except for the "special" invitation (busy work) campaign that precedes it.
I truly believe that even the gb can see that the enthusiasm that once surrounded the Memorial is waning. Hence, I noticed that a few years back the the term "Memorial season" was born within the wt organization. Am effort to boast morale? Yes, jw's now finally, have a holiday season also--and it's such a joyous season! lol

skimming though my iphone earlier today i came across a fb post - which i now can't find!.
basically it was a claim that a gb member had stated that associating with a disfellowshipped person was akin to sleeping next to a corpse.. so obviously i'm curious as to whether anyone else has come across this..
Basically it was a claim that a GB member had stated that associating with a disfellowshipped person was akin to sleeping next to a corpse.
Basically listening to anything that a GB member has to say these days is akin to being "brain dead". IMHO
If you follow their stupid advise commands on medical treatment, you will likely become a sleeping corpse.

everybody here right now is busy "battening down the hatches" as they wait for the approach of a tropical cyclone.
a state of emergency has been declared in the district - the second one in as many weeks.
(the floodwaters from the tropical cyclone that hit just last week have still not drained away).. so far, the biggest hazard looks like it will be the storm surges from the ocean, and people living in some exposed coastal areas have already been evacuated.
Whatever the hell you decide to do, remember that 23 loyal, obedient, jw's were swept away to their death in super typhoon Haiyan when it hit the Philippines a few years ago. Where were they? They were inside a Kingdom Hall worshiping jehober! So much for how jehober protects his loyal ones!

wt has made a number of references to this alleged quote by j. paul getty:.
“money doesn’t necessarily have any connection with happiness.
nothing in my wt life brought more stress and anxiety than not having enough money.. this quote makes far more sense:.
Money can't buy happiness--true. But it sure as hell can buy a lavish new headquarters in upstate New York!

according to john 20:22 the apostles did not receive the holy spirit until after jesus was resurrected.
wouldn't this make them part of 'the other sheep' when they partook of the bread and wine?.
Also, I don't recall Jesus inviting any 'respectful observers' to watch as he and the apostles passed and partook of the bread and wine! What scriptures contain that account?

for several weeks i've been treating myself to a hot chocolate milk (well, soymilk) before bedtime.
some 16 oz soymilk which i heat on high in our microwave oven.
this is just enough time where the liquid begins to bubble along the top edge.. i then take it out of the microwave and place it on my kitchen gram scale, stir it good enough to redistribute the heat, then reset the scale to zero grams.. next, i squeeze in the hershey's sytup, "special dark mildly sweet chocolate" (fat free) into the warmed soymilk till the scale reads some 30 grams.
I think that your scale may have "overlapping" numbers that sometimes get confused. If all else fails 'wait on jehober'. Final answer!

just had a wild conspiracy theory.
get your tin hats everyone.
what if this mass letter writing is all a bethel conspiracy to increase declining service hours?
I remember several 'letter writing' campaigns in the past to various government officials on behalf of jw's. If you were a business owner (which I was), you were especially asked to write a letter, on your business letterhead stationary.
Of course the idea was to impress the letter's recipient that even business 'leaders' were concerned. What joke! But I did it like a good little dubber!
