So jehober allows, good men, Naboth and his sons to be slaughtered by the wicked but he forgives the wicked? wtf! Oh, I forgot, Naboth and his sons will be resurrected a couple of thousand years after being killed! Wow what justice!

same theme scripture as last week deut 32.

i appreciate 10 commandments because they try to ensure law and order in the society.
however, i have problem with introductory statements that say: “you shall have no other gods before[a] me… you shall not bow down to them or worship them; for i, the lord your god, am a jealous god, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” (exodus 20:3-6).
1) this contradicts the characteristics of god described in mathew 5:44-48 where love is described as loving everyone without thinking whether others reciprocate or not.
Just like the 2 tablets that they were supposedly written on, the 10 commandments reflect 'stone age' thinking.

what did you imagine jehovah to look like?
i always pictured him like this:.
.
watchtower october 2017, par 11, page 28 - "very soon the political powers of satan’s world will form a coalition that is bent on the destruction of god’s people.
's] have anything to fear?
not at all!........at that critical moment during the great tribulation, the angelic soldiers of jehovah of armies will come together to protect god’s people..."[j.w.
I'm 71 and started going to meetings when I was 4. Armageddon was "just around the corner" then. The wtbts has it's own silly definition of the word Soooooooooooooon!

did any of you attend the old school week long conventions?
i have heard stories and it seems like these were mostly in the 70's and 80's before my time.
i couldn't imagine.
My first 8 dayer was 1958 (I was 12 yo) in New York. Mom took a day off from convention and took us California boys sightseeing in the Big Apple. Convention was held at 2 outdoor venues, Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds. 250,000 attended 7,000 baptized. I mostly remember being hot, sweaty, and crowded.
Another 7 or 8 dayer was held in 1963 at the famous Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasedena, southern California. Very hot stadium with no shade cover at all. 108,000 attended. I was 17 and mostly chasing the girls at that convention. It was grueling but I mostly remember meeting a lot of pretty girls, i.e. sisters, from all over the country. Since I was now a 'responsible' young man, I didn't need to sit with my mom and younger brothers. Good memories and I don't remember one thing that was said from the program.
Last 7 or 8 dayer I recall was in Los Angeles, California at Dodger Stadium in 1969. Hot, boring, and I was a married man so I didn't have the fun of chasing the girls at that convention. I worked in security at night after the convention ended and didn't get home till 2:30 am so I mostly slept during the day sessions at the convention. lol

i realize that prayer is a really personal thing, but representing a group in prayer has become so full of cliche's that i just want to vomit sometimes.
co week almost every prayer has the phrase "special week of activity" in it.. then there's "please look after the sick and afflicted.".
not so much anymore, "please bless this food and the hands that prepared it.".
"please bless the governing body"
"please forgive us for our sins and imperfection"
"we leave this meeting in your care and direction"

just wondering if there ever been a brother that got dfd and then was shunned by his wife and his at home kids and he's just said , if your going to treat me like this screw it and walked away from all his responsibilities as a provider etc?
it must be hard for those that are dfd to continue to support those that shun him?
again anyone hear of such a case?.
If a man leaves his wife, it's sad but 'sh*t happens' all the time. Not supporting your own kids is a different matter all together. Even if your kids shun you at first because you're df'ed or divorced, I truly believe that if a man continues to support his kids, they will soon see the light and the harmful folly in the wtbts's shunning policy. It may take a while for kids who have been heavily indoctrinated by wtbts sh*t to come around, but I think they will eventually because, in most cases, blood is thicker than wt sh*t!

going “hollywood” hasn’t seemed to help build any enthusiasm for the wtbts.
think about it, jw’s now have their own studio to make videos and cartoons.
the ‘kingdom’ dirges (songs) have received a makeover to a bit more modern tunes.

Are you using baptism at one convention as your quantitative evidence for the fact that it does not work or is you using some other evidence?
I'm not using just one qualifier, (less baptisms) to support the waning support for the "new and improved" Hollywood version of the wtbts. Take a look at most kh's and the attendance is down significantly during the mid week especially. No one really wants to 'go out in service' any more. Weekend meetings are still somewhat supported unless, or course, something else more interesting is available. Dumbing down the literature both in quantity and quality of the message. Standing there like a 'wooden Indian' beside those ridiculous carts is what everyone around here wants to do. Baptism decline is just one of many of "the signs of the end" of their system of things, IMHO.

It`s already happening at WBT$/JW Assemblies...
.....
JW.Org Flags flying at the 2015 Regional Convention in Fribourg, Switzerland
Thanks for the heads up about the JW.Org flags at some of the conventions! Wow, I was just being facetious and didn't know that it was already happening. Maybe the wtbts will start having a flag raising ceremony and a pledge of loyalty immediately following the opening prayer at their conventions. Such crazy sh*t from the 7 brothers of Christ isn't that far fetched anymore. Can't wait till they install the flag poles at the kh's.

The ‘kingdom’ dirges (songs) have received a makeover to a bit more modern tunes. Catchy little songs for their videos such as; ‘Just around the corner’ are now played via JW.Org. They now have their own version of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to educate the sheeple on all ‘new’ songs that have been added. What’s next? Possible a flag pole at each KH with the JW.Org flag flying?
I attended the recent Long Beach, CA convention with 6,445 in attendance and only 30 baptized, mostly kids or .46%. Me thinks that jehober’s chariot is running out of holy spirit!
