There are probably a lot of other jewish fiction books that that would be more interesting to read.

i have seen a few comments about the nwt being an altered version of the bible and i must admit that when they released the new one it did not sit right with me.. i want to read the bible but not the nwt.
i also do not want to read one that has the thee and thou and ye etc because that will do my head in.. what translations do you recommend?.

i'm just curious with all the happy clapping that is now going on with the singing at the conventions.
what has been the reaction to it with the r&f.
has anyone ever commented that it reminded them of a pentecostal revival meeting.
It beats the hell out of the 'funeral dirges' that we used to call kingdom melodies!

" the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.
therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.
Of course he does! They're all directed by god. Silly question.
“Isn’t it a remarkable coincidence that almost everyone has the same religion as their parents? And it always just happens to be the right religion.”
humor plays a big part in a lot of humanity and we all like a good laugh but as far as i'm aware god's supposed word has no actual humor ,of course apart from being a joke itself ,why wasn't there a passage or something like "jesus farted and giggles broke out among them " or something, is anyone aware of any notations of humor ?
all to.serious really.
Yes there was a lot of laughter when jehober god told Abraham and sarah that those 2 old geezers were going to have a child. It must have been pretty humorous and god reproved Sarah for laughing but they named their son "laughter "(Isaac) anyway. I'm sure Abraham thought it was a joke when jehober told him to kill his son too!
That old jehober is just a 'barrel of laughs'.

http://www.pennlive.com/news/2017/07/court_nixes_lawsuit_by_family.html.
the family of a jehovah's witness who died after repeatedly refusing blood transfusions can't sue the hospital where doctors begged for a chance to save her life, a state appeals court ruled.. the case, outlined in an opinion by superior court judge jacqueline o. shogan, involves a convergence of religion, medicine and the law.. its focus is on what happened before terri seels-davila, a jehovah's witness missionary, died after giving birth at hahnemann university hospital in philadelphia in november 2010.. seels-davila, who had been serving on mission with her husband in nicaragua, chose hahnemann because of its "bloodless medicine" program for patients who won't agree to having blood transfusions, including jehovah's witnesses, shogan noted.
the treatment plan for seels-davila called for recycling her own blood back into her system.. yet that proved to be inadequate when complications of her delivery required seels-davila to deliver by cesarean section.
Collateral damage n.---------Unintended damage, injuries, or deaths caused by an action, especially a military event
I have sometimes thought that this term, ‘collateral damage’ applies to the pain, suffering, and death experienced by jw’s who have faithfully adhered to the wtbts’s stupid medical policies. Because the wtbts has to be right about everything that they publish, and they can’t back down, the unintended result of their very flawed medical policies has certainly left a swath of death, suffering and unnecessary loss for many. Of course the wtbts doesn’t intend for their members to die due to refusing necessary medical treatment, but it certainly happens all too often.
It’s not the intention of the military to kill civilians when they order a drone strike on a “high value target”, but it happens and it is an acceptable outcome if the target is eliminated.
Dying “for the cause”, as this young sister did, is an acceptable outcome to the wtbts because she did not ‘compromise’ Just as collateral damage is acceptable to the military.

the supreme court of russia has rejected the jehovah's witnesses' appeal.. https://jw-russia.org/news/17071719-195.html.
july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.
"There is no jehober" so says the fool!

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.
they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.
aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.
Because there is no qualifying, no questions to go over with the elders, and no hour requirement to be in that special group "annointed"!

i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).
"john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.
" but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.
The people of the region saw that there was great power in the name of Jesus,
"The bible is an old fiddle on which any tune can be played." That's how they explain everything!
IMHO, Paul did to Jesus' teachings the same as Rutherford did to Russell's teachings. Teachings that started out as gentle, kind, and humane got changed by the next guy in line of authority. Paul often mentioned Jesus teachings because he saw
'great power in the name of Jesus" but he also added his own version and twist on things. He used the "Jesus power and persuasion" as a segway to take over and promote his own ideas into the "christian " congregations. Most 'christian' doctrine today is basically Pauline dogma. He wrote most of the greek scriptures which reflect his world view of how things should be.
Rutherford did the same thing to Russell's religion. He muscled his way in and took over. He used what Russell amazing was able to get started and often mentioned Russell in endearing terms, because he saw " great power in the name of CT Russell"/ until he gained full control. His writings dominated the organization for many decades until thankfully he died.
Sorry if I got of track!

we all know that the governing body claim to be "god's representatives" and the "faithful and discreet slave" that dispenses spiritual food..... but where is the proof?.
according to the bible (if we just for a moment take it as a reliable source), all of god's representatives in the past furnished proof of their appointment - not just self referential claims or statements.. for instance, moses and aaron performed miracles before pharaoh (such as the snake staffs.).
other prophets performed signs and miracles such as making the sun stand still, healing sick people, making walls fall down, etc etc.... even jesus performed miracles as proof of his divine appointment!.
If you need proof that you have the troof, you're faith must be weak! Or you may have a fully functioning brain!

what would happen when the man on the picture below, would ring the bell at 1. kings drive in texudo.
" the guard asked with a routine smile on his face.
"maybe i can help you, i presume?
Their masters are already there in Warwick, They have 7 of them and as we all know, 7 is the "symbolic" (LOL) number for 'heavenly completeness".
So the guard would have to politely say, "Come back when one of our guys dies!"
