Is it better to have a false hope than have no hope?

just got the news.

a very close classmate of mine met an accident and died last nite.... just 4 months after i da'd from the borg.. if i am still in, i wouldn't be so sad.

he has the hope of resurrection.. but now that i am out, i realise that resurrection in paradise is all bullshit.. so what's next?

When I was a child, I hoped that Santa Claus would bring me gifts for Christmas--and he did! At Easter I hoped that the Easter Bunny would bring candy--an she did! When I put my baby tooth under the pillow, I hoped that the Tooth Fairy would leave me some money--and they did!

When I grew up and learned the truth about Santa, The Bunny, and The Fairy, it didn't shatter my world! So what I'm saying is that your parents and/or other authoritative figures teach/tell you things that are just not true to give us a feeling of happiness. When we see the truth of the matter it shouldn't have a major impact on our lives. It's just what it is, a happy concept to make us look forward to something good.

How Many Witnesses Would Really Take Blood?

up until the very end, my mother refused blood.

it didn't matter if it was a blurred line or not, the bible says "no blood"!

i wonder if she was in the minority, in her thinking.

I routinely 'give blood' at least 4-5 times a year. It's when I go to my doctor. So do most jw's when they have several vials of blood drawn and sent to some laboratory to be analyzed and checked to determine their health especially when looking for a specific marker in their blood. So it's okay to 'donate' blood when it's going to be used (analyzed in a lab) to help the medical profession determine if a faithful jw has some medical condition that may be treated and prevent their death?

But if death is staring a faithful jw in the face and administering blood id the only alternative the medical profession has to save their life, blood suddenly becomes sacred?

Many Witnesses are just plain tired out!

i believe that many witnesses are tired out or at least tiring out.

i know....... because i am tired out!.

imagine going to college for 20 years not knowing when college is finished.

They are friggin' exhausted. Hearing the same old bs meeting after meeting after meeting. Going to the same doors week after week after week. Hell, the most exhausting thing is just saying the word jehovah over and over and over will wear you out!

Barred from entering kh

a friend of mine called last night we will call him tom.

he is df now for 2 yrs for associating with a a df person non relative.

anyway he arrived at the meeting this week and was informed by 3 elders that he was no longer welcomed at the hall.apparently he was caught greeting someone in the parking lot after meeting.

he’s supposed to be watching over all things-except when he doesn’t and he can control any situation-except when he doesn’t.. so he gets all the credit for the good things that are and that happen due to his “dynamic energy”.

So he gets all the credit for the good things that are and that happen due to his “dynamic energy”. It must be tiring because he obviously takes days off. And when he does take a breather, bad, really bad things happen. Even his ‘own people’, the ones that he promised to protect, sometimes lose their lives or, even worse, see their loved ones lose life.

Recently here in the USA god has had too much time off and the disasters have really piled up. What happened in Las Vegas is a prime example of what happens when god takes a day off! If you have the power to prevent something evil from happening and you don’t—what does that say about you?

So I was approached by our PO 20 years ago or so because I owned(and still own)a hand gun. It's a 9mm for protection and for just the fun of owning it.

In his self righteous way he pointed out to me that it was not scriptural to own a weapon. So of course I asked why and he gave me some of the 'boiler plate' scriptures in this Question from Readers article. So after listening politely, I asked him who created weapons in the first place. "Satan" was his answer. I said "good guess" and I then pointed him to the bible book of Genesis where it plainly says that jehober placed "the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously" to guard or protect the garden of eden. Sounded like a weapon to me!
