the method i used lol.
1) be a good servant and make sure your wt and pub are always underlined every meeting(great for appearances).
2) comment every meeting(a "sure way" to know someones "spiritually qualified").

both jws and former jws dont seem to remember that up until 1990, jws sold magazines, books, and brochures from door to door.
you went to either the magazine or the literature counter and bought publications that you were going to sell.
pioneers would get a slight discount.
Religion is a snare and a money making racket! yep we were all just salesmen. god they were so subtle and persuasive in seducing us into believing that we were not just ordinary salesmen selling religion.

just curious.
add your quotes with no commentary if you like, it should be obvious why you agree.. the dangers of being deceivedthe really sad fact is that very often the person who is deceived or deluded tends to hold on to his belief in spite of strong evidence proving otherwise.
perhaps he gets so emotionally attached to his belief that he simply shuts his eyes and closes his ears to any evidence that might challenge it.. the watchtower, 01/09/ 2010 p10/11.

The book then raises the logical question. “Is it reasonable to assume that the religion imposed at one’s birth is necessarily the whole truth?” Thus, every person is encouraged to examine other religions with an open mind. As is stated on page 10: “Understanding one another’s viewpoint can lead to more meaningful communication and conversation between people of different faiths.” It continues: “True, people may strongly disagree about their religious beliefs, but there is no basis for hating a person just because he or she holds a different viewpoint.”—Matthew 5:43, 44.

It is a serious matter to represent God and Christ in one way, then find that our understanding of the major teachings and fundamental doctrines of the Scriptures was in error, and then after that, to go back to the very doctrines that, by years of study, we had thoroughly determined to be in error. Christians cannot be vacillating—‘wishy-washy’—about such fundamental teachings. What confidence can one put in the sincerity or judgment of such persons?

ahhhhhh......man....... .
so now we have to count all tracts / leaflets / meeting invitations etc as placements on the monthly report slip???.
is this just another method of control or accountability!
I agree that it's all about numbers. The news out of Brooklyn will be "All time peak in number of pieces of Bible literature placed by JW's in 2014!"
i've been visiting here for about a year or so, but didn't really feel compelled to participate other than reading the various posts that interested me.. there's been that uncomfortable feeling of being disloyal to god, the organization, many friends and relatives.. i've been associated since birth.
after 65 + years of service within this organization and actually enjoying that time, it troubled me to find myself wanting to express feelings that were contrary to all that time of "faithfulness".
those years were filled with progressive "privileges and responsibilities" even at a high level, and there was considerable success in our evangelizing activity.
stirred but noit shaken
I spent 60+ years also as a dub before I got ttatt. 20 years as an elder. Too many things that didn't add up. My wife is still in but will not give up on her. Many on this site are much younger than us and saw ttatt before we did, but us "old dogs" can learn new tricks!

to all bodies of elders in the united states branch territory re: branch visit in november 2014. dear brothers:.
in our letter dated february 19, 2014, to all congregations in the united states branch ter- ritory, you were informed of a special weekend program to be held on saturday, november 8, 2014, and sunday, november 9, 2014. this program is in connection with the branch visit scheduled for the united states and will be broadcast to locations throughout the branch territory.
we are pleased to inform you of some of these arrangements.. since the goal is to allow as many as possible the opportunity to benefit from this branch visit program, provision will be made to allow any kingdom hall properly equipped to receive the broadcast.
OMG! Another highly hyped big EVENT! In November no less. So a "biggie" in October, the AGM, followed by another "biggie" in November. Armagedon must really be close now. Soooooooon! Smoke screens to divert our attention or maybe the gb will have made up a reason why nothing has happened in the past 100 years or even the past 2000 years for that matter.
This seems like the precurser to having many "special" meetings at the kh's. The gb will be piped into the local kh's and everybody can hear firsthand the latest prattle. The circuit assemblies have been 'phased out' and they will now be replaced with all day internet events at the local kh. The latest wtbts videos and "cableb" cartoons will be aired to the dubs at local kh's, featuring gb members. The latest 'nu-lite' and catastrophy news can be transmitted immediately to all kh's with internet access. The new movie studio that the are setting up in Warwick can now be used to produce full length "G" rated movies for all dubs. What a wonderful provision from the gb.
WOW! Praise Jah!

recently had a discussion with a surgeon who said jw parents "usually" (her word, not mine) privately say they will take blood if the provider gets a court order.. yet another person, with no connection to dubs and no motive to make this up, saying this same thing.
interesting.. i'm surprised the thought police have not come out with an article saying jehoopla reads the hearts and judges as bloodguilty those who are relieved when forced to take blood..
Take the friggin blood transfusion and at least give yourself or your loved one a fighting chance to live. Then claim that you were "under pressure" and stumbled, you know kinda like old Peter did when he denied Christ.
JW's were wrong about many strongly held "Truths" suchas: 1914, 1925, 1975, "this generation", who the "fds" really is, who the "superior authorities" are, etc., etc., then they got "nu-lite" and changed their doctrine. Those false teachings and subsequent changes didn't cost anyone their life. They're wrong about "no blood" and hopefully, but it's not very likely that they will someday also change that stupid doctrine. Getting the 'blood' doctrine wrong kills people.
It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
