Yea Sarah could have been a problem, unfit? (lol) if she had had an adulterous relationship and screwed up the lineage of Jesus, but David and Bathsheba not??? Solomon and his many sluts not??? The guy looking at the laptop in paragraph 10 looks like James Gandolfini viewing an episode of The Sopranos or maybe a CO viewing the latest crap he is suppose to deliver in his service talks.

A WT "prophecy" that finally came true?

at long last, after 140 years of failed prophecies, it appears that the borg finally got one right!

recall the odd little article published back in the november 15th, 2013 wt about the 7 shepherds 8 dukes (anti-type) and the evil assyrian (anti-type) and some silly nonsense about the assyrians attack on the vulnerable wtbts.

page 20 paragraph 17 of that strange article contained this foreboding prophecy from the faithful and discreet slave, (anti-type);.

Looks to me like Abraham and Sarah were great scam artists. As they wandered around in the ‘wilderness’, for whatever stupid reason they did so, they would likely run low on provisions, so good old Abraham pons his half-sister/wife off, first on Pharoah and then on Abimelech who both want to take Sarah for a wife. Well, in steps jehober to the rescue and both Pharoah and Abimelech are threatened by jehober. Both realize that they have been scammed. They then ‘give’ the Abraham/Sarah scam team a mother lode of sheep, cattle, donkeys, camels, male and female slaves, and Abimelech even throws in 1,000 pieces of silver.

Moral of the story is; lying, deceit, scamming in the name of jehober pays off big time. Sort of like ‘theocratic warfare’ where anything goes. And, no wonder the Israelites were a bunch of nut cases. The ‘father and mother’ of the nation were in an incestuous relationship.

Well, that time came less than a year later for jehober’s people to ‘receive direction from jehober’s ORGANIZATION that was NOT practical, was NOT sound, and was NOT strategic from a human standpoint’. And, we were “ready to obey ANY instructions” and we did (at least here in the USA)

So how was this “not practical, not sound, not strategic prophecy” fulfilled?

The name jehober was still mentioned twice as much as Jesus at the rc. It was absolutely the 'lamest' convention (video fest) I have ever attended. Even my 87 year old, uber-duber, die-hard, mom commented, "Where's the meat?" Had to laugh at that comment. We had that 'porky' little gb brother there in Long Beach, Sanderson. I think he even had a hard time trying to keep a straight face when he talked about what a "spiritual feast" we all enjoyed. 7,000+ attended---29 baptized. Man the growth is phenomenal!

personally i think this is wonderful.

i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.

a lot of them are even saying that it's the start to armageddon!!.

Slow motion pioneers

observing our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.

along the way it's gossipy this and that.

100 hours per month when I pioneered back in the late 60's. I was trained well by a long-time pioneer on how to s t r e t c h your time. My favorite was find a shady porch, hope no one was home, and just rehearse your 'sermon' to the householder, who's 'invisible' presence was most appreciated.

"Gerson Therapy" in Tijuana, Mexico

since at least back to the 1960s in canada, jws have been travelling to mexico for cancer treatment.

and, i believe, other medical treatments.

because i watched my uncle die of cancer back in 1962, unable to receive treatment because the doctors couldn't operate without blood, i have always been curious as to why the jws with cancer were going to mexico.

I live in California and know many,many jw's that have gone to TJ, Mexico for cancer, arthritis treatment. To be honest, I think it's a crap shoot. Some are helped and some just die. Cancer treatment in the USA has basically the results. I really think the excitement for many jw's in going to Mexico was the clandestine nature of having to 'smuggle' the "tonic" back across the border. Kinda like having to go "underground" because of persecution.

I just lost a very dear friend, only 51 years old, to a rare form of leukemia. The only 'real' option the US doctors offered was blood transfusions which they admitted only produced a 10% survival rate. So off to TJ, Mexico we went for the "tonic". $1,100.00 was the cost for the "tonic" and he died a week later. RIP.
