Jw's are not the problem. Most are very nice people. German people were not the problem in the WWII era either. Who gets people radicalized and fanatical?
Yep---that's the problem!

1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

i haven't yet won the state lottery but i purchased a lottery ticket last night.
if i win the lottery, it's $150 million.. if i win, my name is publicly announced and of course my picture gets into the news.
i will probably get df'ed.. however, will the wtbts accept a hefty "donation' from my 'lucky' winnings?

my jw friends that still speak to me, tell me that they love the meetings because of the things they learn.. i wonder what they think they're learning?
it an avenue that always perplexes me because their replies are just so wishy washy or i get a blank stare when i ask.. what's you r experience?.
Ok, for starters, without even much thought, I:
Learned that you can bang your daughters and still be considered 'righteous'.
Learned you can bang your neighbor, have her husband killed, and be considered "a man after jehober's own heart".
Learned you can bold faced lie and be chosen as the father whose 'offspring will bless all nations'.
Learned 2 people need to 'witness' a child being molested.
Learned that jehober loves massive animal sacrifices.
Dang, I have learned a lot!

the watchtower organization resists the idea that its workforce is comprised of employees.
instead it promotes the idea that these individuals comprise a family.
yet recently there is a directive that smacks a totalitarian tendency.
"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"

i am sure its a bit of all four.
do you think they are embarrassed by old doctrines as time goes by that become ludicrous?
(beth sarim 1925 resurrection).
Since it's a man made religion , like all religions, different men have different ideas in order to establish their authority and legacy.

... not that they would ever toot their own horn.
* * * daniel's prophesy, chap.17, par.3 * * *.
have you found the holy ones of the supreme one, and are you associating with them?
They are really a very humble bunch for sure. They refer to themselves as 'The Governing Body' (proper noun) not the governing body (common noun). I started noticing this change back in the 80's. However, they still refer to the (non existent) 1st century as the governing body as a common noun.

that the paradise may or may not be real?
that the things you have been taught for many years from the jehovah's witnesses may not really be as they say?
has it really ever really hit you with that "pow" of reality ever?
Hell yes! That's one of the reasons we are here on this site.

this was posted on fb.. so guys, i'm gonna share something with you all that i think you should know.
i've only told two people about this (one being john cedars) for fear of getting this guy into trouble, but it's very telling and will reaffirm your "ttatt faith!
a couple of weeks ago, i had to have an "ability to protect" assessment by a gentleman from a company that also investigates child protection policies etc.
Any changes that are made by the wtbts, doctrine, meetings, contribution methods, they are all "loving provisions" from the FDS. I'm sure nothing else factors in.

at the agm this year geoffrey jackson identified the "man with a secretary's inkhorn," of ezekiel chapter 9 as being jesus christ.
this was declared an "adjustment" from the previous understanding that the organisation used to believe that this "man" was "the annointed.".
has the society always taught that the "man with the secretary's inkhorn" was someone other than jesus - or is this a situation where back in the mists of time the bible students understood him to be jesus, and then rutherford (or someone) identified him as "the annointed," and now they have reverted back to their initial belief?.
Yep, decades of repeatedly pounding into our heads who "the man with the secretary's inkhorn" is. In just and instant we should erase decades of indoctrination and "adjust" our view! No problem!

in 1935, clayton woodworth (editor of the golden age - later the awake!
magazine) devised a 'new' calendar that he proposed was far superior to the pagan calendars that have been used in human history.he wrote a three part series for the golden age (i am not sure if these were actually published) that laid out his justifications for how this new calendar was more accurate and of course, was right in line with the divine plan.
the calendar was published in the 1935 yearbook, but the watchtower magazine later published a retraction to the calendar.
Hard to believe that this calendar was too weird even for Rutherford and Freddy. They put out some very weird crap!
