    conversation with jesus.

many times when i am troubled or confused, i find comfort in sitting in my back yard and having a vodka and cranberry along with a quiet conversation with jesus.

this happened to me again today after a particularly difficult day.. i said "jesus, why do i work so hard?".

Conversation with JesusMany times when I am troubled or confused, I find comfort in sitting in my back yard and having a vodka and cranberry along with a quiet conversation with Jesus. This happened to me again today after a particularly difficult day. I said "Jesus, why do I work so hard?"

And I heard the reply: "Men find many ways to demonstrate the love they have for their family. You work hard to have a peaceful, beautiful place for your friends and family to gather."

I said: "I thought that money was the root of all evil."

And the reply was: "No, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Money is a tool; it can be used for good or bad".

I was starting to feel better, but I still had that one burning
question, so I asked it. "Jesus," I said, "what is the meaning of life? Why am I here?"

He replied: "That is a question many men ask. The answer is in your heart and is different for everyone. I would love to chat with you some more, Senor, but for now, I have to finish mowing your lawn

many years ago when i was much younger, my family went boating with another young family.

there were a total of seven children and four adults.

after our outing, we loaded up the life jackets, food, drink, towels, boat and children and jumped into the van.

Oh Restrangled....I can imagine how awful that was! I know mine got away from me a couple of times, not far, but enough to scare the tweet out of me! They are so fast sometimes it seems they can move in the blink of an eye!

My husband walked home from elementary school one afternoon and was focused in on a brand new globe (he had always wanted one!). It wasn't until he turned around and saw the rest of the interior of the house that he realized the other stuff didn't belong to his family.

Evidently his parents had neglected to tell him that was the day they were moving. Poor kid. I think he never quite got over it.

As we pulled away from the parking lot, one of us glanced out the window and there was poor little Joey running after the van wailing. Of course we stopped and turned around, but felt terrible that we had neglected the most important part of our trip.

Luckily for us, this had a happy ending. I know for others, it may not have been especially when each of us lives such a busy life.

    Have you ever done this?

    Gawd this board is entertaining!

Richie, good to see you again! Can't say I like the tongue or the piercings much, but that's just me.

I still think he is a accident waiting to happen.

    ahhhh ... so ...

Rosey, I think that should be "an accident", not "a accident"....

we have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.

it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .

    1. I was involved in a car accident 6 years ago which totalled my vehicle and damaged three other vehicles (not my fault & no injuries) on the way to a job interview. Made the interview on time and got the job despite everything. (No, I didn't leave the scene before police showed and car was towed)
    2. Had a surgeon offer me the option 10 + years ago to have my belly button removed during an umbilical hernia operation and decided against it after an online vote & discussion with others on a now gone chat line.
