My long story at least Part 1
by pmouse inspecifically christmas appears to be the one holiday to which all others compare.
we either joyfully or sadly recall past christmas holidays.
as i recall, they were controversial in our family even before i was born.. im going to go back a couple of generations in my story to give you a bit of background.

Where there is a garage sale sign, so shall there be a Witness...
by pmouse inis that written somewhere in the nwt?
or is it "have a garage sale and they will come" the hollywood horror movie?
i don't recall seeing it, but sure enough, hang a garage sale sign out and you will get them, all dressed up carrying book bags with a casually rolled up watchtower trying to place it to distract you while the other one tries to throw you off by offering 10 cents instead of 25 cents for your junk.

What's your culinary specialty?
by pmouse inreading hortensia's topic "menu" made my mouth water.
i remember in the 70's (when we used to be able to have lots of jw social get-togethers like picnics and parties) some of the friends would bring pot-luck specialties that were to die for!.
everyone has a dish they consider their "specialty" which gets high praise and generally requests for the recipe.

Help! I'm hooked!
by pmouse inwoe is me.
i reside in the deep south (atlanta ga area) and i have discovered the most wonderful, perfect, rich tasting cup of coffee ever.
during a business meeting raffle, i won a tin of tim horton's coffee (brought back as a result of a business trip by those higher up on the food chain).

Anticipation....
by pmouse inhubby just called.
on his way out of the neighborhood (where we are having a subdivision-wide garage sale), he spotted a group of well-dressed individuals with book bags descending upon the streets.
although i have the "no soliciting, no peddling, no preaching" stop sign posted to my screen door (someone here thoughtfully posted), i am waiting anxiously to see if:they even make it to my street because of notorious fascination with garage sales while in the field;they attempt the climb up my stairs to my front porch (hubby just replaced the steps, no handrails yet, therefore the call to put out a cone or something);finally, if they actually ring my doorbell.. if number 3 happens, i plan to launch into the subject of education and how the wts discourages it while not so tactfully pointing at the sign.
