  Maybe they are starting to get it!!

  my jw friend told me there was a part on the service meeting last night, about calling on inactive ones.

  we knew that was in the km.

  she said the po gave it as a talk, and said there were 15 inactive ones in their territory (we are 2 of them), and that elders had been assigned to call on all of them to encourage them.. but..................he said all those in the congregation can and should call on inactive ones regularly, and truly encourage them.

  So, using the SHEEP analogy: If a sheep strays from the flock, the shepard has to wait for an order from his boss before he starts searching for the lost sheep? He needs to be told that, when he finds that sheep he needs to be NICE TO IT instead of kicking it all the way back to flock? And the rest of the flock needs to be told to be nice to it and not engage in actions that would DRIVE IT AWAY AGAIN??! And that, if the boss doesn't tell the shepard and the flock to do these things then they will do NOTHING??!!

  Kind of goes against what the definition of a spiritual leader is, doesn't it? Afterall, the Bible also used the Sheep analogy as when talking about leaders.

  DNA and Man's origin

  i think as time goes on and dna gets understood better and better it will be imposible for fundamental christians to defend thier position against evolution.

  kind of like the catholic church going against galileio saying the "earth is not the center of the universe".. "eventually"(maybe not now) to fight against the evidence makes you look very stupid and under heavy mind control.. don't get me wrong i beleive there is a god, and i think he used "gradualism" to create the universe and life, i even feel the first 2 chapter of genesis are discribing a very long drawn out process that took just as evolutionist are telling us, billions of years till finally man appears.. eventually the wt is going to have to change its understanding of genesis to even stay credible..

  What I find kind of funny about how some people refer to the "Days" that it took to create the universe and how they think those days are literal is this: Days are relative depending on what planet you are on. A day on Pluto is a completely different ammount of time that it is on earth. But it IS a day if you were from Pluto. Our days last 24 hours. A day is just the amount of time it takes for your planet to complete one full rotation. And every planet spins at a different speed. If one planet take 10 of our years for it to complete one revolution, that's still ONE DAY, TO THEM. So it's relative.

  Not only that, but a few of those first "Days" were actually before there were any planets created! So the universal concept of a day didn't even exist at that point. Without any planets spinning you are without a basis for reference to be able to calculate an actual day. So these days of creation must be figurative. Either that or it's a day according to the timeline of Heaven. The dimension that Heaven is located in may have their own days and they may be of a different length of time than our days. But, as I said, it's relative. And it really doesn't matter anyway. Why is there so much arguement over it anyway? It's insignificant and has nothing to do with anything regarding faith.

  I never thought about it that way. What make the JW's any different than the rest of them? They are registered with the government just like all the others are. They recieve benefits from the government just like the others do. The only difference is that they don't give the benefits back to the community. They horde it all for themselves. So they are profiting from the governemt for being a religion. They are recieving a paycheck from the Beast. Which means that they WORK for the Beast. They are in league together. If they were truely neutral to the governments of the world then they would not be registered with them and they would refuse any special treatment from them. Because they don't means they will fall just like the others, according to their own screwed up proffecy.

  i used to be a jw for a few years but i left it behind like a pair of dirty underwear.

  at first it seemed good.

  the people were all very nice and inviting (of course they would be), the teachings seemed logical.

  Thanks. This is a very interesting board. I'm enjoying it and learning alot about everyone elses bad experiences with this organization. There were alot of other questions I had for these elders that I wanted answers but I can't remember what they were. When they come to me I'll post them here. It was funny to see their reactions. It was kinda like a "How the hell do we answer this one?"

  All in my mind

  how do you visualize a year?

  in my mind, i see a year as a sphere, where january is on top, and july in on the bottom.

  january 1st---------on top of the sphere.

  I also see the months as a clock going counter-clockwise, but I visualize it in 3-D and the clock rotates depending on the month. During the first half of the year I see the clock face facing straight out at me, in my mind.

  During the last half of the year the clock rotates about 45 degrees to the left so that this gives me more of the percpective that the months are CLIMBING UP to December.

  they have changed their mind about the issue of blood transfusions and have made it a non-disfellowshipping act!

  while i never agreed with it to begin with i think this is crazy.

  Some very interesting things indeed! I never heard of the UN scandal before today so I looked it up. Those rat bastards are bad mouthing the UN in one breath and secretly aligning themselves with them in the other breath. I've missed alot of action since I left. Glad of it too.

  I tell ya what. If I had a loved one that died because she couldn't get a transfusion that she really wanted and needed to save their life I would sue the hell out of the WBTS after they change their minds!

  I was considered a troublemaker because I was too logical. I asked too many questions. And had the unique ability to take a buttload of information, put it together, compare it to what is factual and see if it jives. And if it doesn't I have to question it and I'll ask anyone that's around me that might know. Because of this they councled me saying that I am spreading doubts. They actually said that those kind of thoughts are influenced by demons. I told them no, they're influenced by intellegence and logic and the need to understand and define my beliefs.

  I wasn't easliy led so that made me a troublemaker.

  how many here feel that their lives have became better and more successful since they left the org.?.

  my life has truly turned 180 degrees...been blessed since i left.. i will not go into details but i am happier, don't have regrets, and there is not any guilt feelings to deal with.

  Yeah, if you're a JW they don't want you to excell in a career because that less time that you have for THEM. They don't want you to goto school and get an education because then you'll LEARN something that you may use to figure out their true intentions. But they tell you not to goto college because there's worldly influences and you'll be "led astray by the world."

  They only want you to be a self employed house cleaner (which is what 90% of the REALLY dedicated ones do... Cleaning toilets for God) or mowing lawns and plowing driveways, making barely mimimum wage so you can devote more time to sucking souls from the living.
