I used to enjoy being a witness because I was a brother -- Ray Franz discusses it in his book Crisis Of Conscience . I "reached out" and became an MS then an elder --the training on the Theocratic Ministry School when you consider it is free -- is far better than paying good dollars out for public speaking courses -- I got to give Public Talks away at other congregations -- and it used to give me great feelings when brothers and sisters would come up to me after and say that was a brilliant talk brother -- I really enjoyed such and such a point -- and I could go on -- believe it or not I used to enjoy elders meetings especially if I could correct a fellow elder and use a scripture or letter from The Society to prove my point -- it must be much more difficult for a sister. Now I am not saying my feelings were christian -- they are not -- but it is how I felt and I know many brothers who feel the same. They enjoy being witnesses no mattter what. I have heard Jews say -- if God himself came down to earth and told me the law of moses was wrong -- keeping sabbath etc -- I would not believe him--- likewise there are many JW elders/MS/CO/DO - who if Charles T. Russell himself came back and told them they were following the wrong course -- many modern day JW swould not believe him -- they genuinely enjoy being JWs even if it is al lfor the wrong reasons

Some People Enjoy Being Jehovah's Witnesses For Various Reasons
by minimus insome individuals truly enjoy being jehovah's witnesses.
i think about those that would have liked to be in acting.
well, having a part in a demonstration in the service meeting or giving a talk in the theocratic ministry school gives one the opportunity to act, be melodramatic, show a little comedic talent, etc.

KM article (barf alert)
by Euphemism injust had to share some lovely points from this week's service meeting.
the article "imitate jehovah's goodness" has the following paragraph:toward unbelievers: one way we can imitate jehovah's goodness is by showing sincere concern for those not related to us in the faith.
(gal 6:10) showing goodness in practical ways can have a positive effect on how they view jehovah's witnesses and the message we bear.. .

What was your biggest pet peeve at the Kingdom Hall ???
by run dont walk in.
was there anything in particular that drove you nuts at the kingdom hall ??
?

I did not think I had a pet peeve at the KH until I read what Confucious posted.
Those Kangaroo Court Votes... How many in favor of paying for the Circuit Overseer's bill of bla bla bla, pantyhose, bla bla bla, candy, bla bla bla. Sometimes I would just look around like, "are you shitting me???" Then like everybody would raise their hand to vote together.
And now when I look back yes this made/makes me angry. What I am ashamed of was that once or twice when the PO was away/vacation/sick I actually stood on the platform presented the COs expenses and took the vote -- I mean as if any JW is going stick his/her hand up and vote against -- that would be a d'fing offence wouldn't it?

Yes -- I know that no elder enjoyed giving Outline number 13 -- "A Godly View of Sex and Marriage" and there were obvious embarrassments and anxieties in the hall at the time with the brothers and sisters -- I personally had no real anxieties --but I never enjoyed meeting a work colleague while I was out on service -- I hated that. If feelings of anxiety ever came up just went to a very stanadrd presentation on tthe lines of "Would you like to read a copy of the latest WT/Awake?" -nice and simple and if they refused just said OK Thankyou very much - have a nice day

"When All Other Religions Are Destroyed, Then, They'll Come After Us"
by minimus indo you recall this being said, over and over again?
we, as witnesses, will look like we're on the brink of extinction, and all of a sudden, jehovah will protect his people, like his eyeball.
is this crazy or what??

My pleasure Hamas and I will not accuse of plagiarizing my idea -- but seriously the JWs seem to have steered clear in the main of having a go at Muslims -- Catholics are the big bad guys --- oh and thanks JH for the J Lo photos-- she can come after me anytime -- I will even let her rape me if she wants - it is unfair to blame minimus he is doing the heterosexual male members of this board a big favor

Watchtowers about what sexual positions God approves of and the comments that followed were ridiculous and embarrassing.
This was mine because while I was an elder me and my wife were doing things that were not approved of -- oral in particular - missionary was rare and that is about the only approved position by the WTBTS isnt it?

I agree Hamas - in many ways they are moderating their views and sucking up to governments (ass- kissing what ever phrase you want to use) -- oral sex is now tolerated and no judicial for it -- and other areas more tolerant-- but in disfellowshipping they seem to be going to even greater extremes and even less tolerant - they still seem very anti-catholic though -- but are steering clear of having a real go at Muslims -- I think they are worried about Jihad or Fatwah being declared against them -- sorry if this seems to be drifting off subject
