  can anyone tell me how to find the information proving that the jws have dealings with the un and that they are in fact members.

  i went on the un main website but i could not find anything.

  i tried their search engine and nothing came up.. please help!.

  SMURFS ?!

  can anyone tell me what was wrong with the smurfs ?.

  i heard some horrible rumours about them as a kid, something about some kid taking a smurf to the kingdom hall, it making a whole lotta noise and then trotting off up the aisle until some burley elder threw it out the back !.

  while we are on this point anyone ever have things taken away from them for being demonic etc

  The other part of it I heard was that this one kid had smurf curtains and one night when the parents came to check on him, the smurfs had climbed down the curtains and were doing some sort of evil dance around the child.

  That is so funny! I honestly did laugh out loud! I can actually picture that.

  I too heard that the smurfs were bad. Thank goodness for spiritually weak parents! LOL

  My siblings and I were only banned from the show for about a week. Wasn't the cartoon on primetime at one point?

  I only remember my Dad make us change the T.V. channel one time while watching the Smurfs. I believe it was at night, my parents just came home with a Huge Brand New T.V.!

  We were so excited to watch the Smurfs and in the middle of it my "Pops" yelled at us to change the channel. So we turned it to "BWITCHED" LOL, just kidding. But really we watched the smurfs all the time after that.

  Misogyny----anyone here guilty?

  after reading the post on how to "treat your husband," i'd like to know if any men here actually feel this way about women.

  everyone jokes around about male/female relationships, but how many really think women are inferior?

  i know from some serious posts i've read here, that a few of the men must have really been hurt by someone.

  Intimidated..........sounds like a dream come true to me! And I,ve always considered women equals. We may have different strengths but, no one should be subordinated to another.

  AlanF: I had a feeling you were joking..........

  I do enjoy pleasing my "Honey" any way I can and I expect the same in return. But, of course we all get a little selfish at times and it may seem one is being taken advantage of. A good healthy relationship is based on love and respect from both sides.

  after the edict was issued (the watchtower december 1, 1972, pages 734-736) numerous marriages broke up as a result.

  then, seven years later, the governing body changed its mind and reversed the policy.

  I guess I am more immoral than I thought. I thought I was only guilty of immorality because I am unmarried. LOL

  Thanks for the replies everyone. I was just curious. I read some of the quotes from the WT off the link one of you posted. I thought Oral Sex was always forbidden. I didn't know they decided to leave it to one's own conscience.

  I found this quote off of someone's website, I forgot where now. But, I was wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what type of conduct was wrong and then made okay.

  My ex-student's letter of disassociation

  here is the letter of disassociation of one who was "my best" student when serving the borg.

  we studied together for more than 2 years.

  she got baptized and was doing pioneering hours slaving the borg.since my disassociation she has been scrutinizing the borg and she has been out for a while.now she is keen to disassociate herself from this cult.. so, here is her letter, and i hope that it can serve as an example for those who think about doing the same.. 1 march 2003. .

  I have been in-active for the last 4 years. I am questioning everything. I really do not know how to start my research. Please Help.

  I have this knot in my stomach, I feel like I am turning by back on Jehovah by rejecting or just questioning this organization.

  This person's DA Letter is making me think:

  The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society supported the United Nations
  for over 10 years as an associate Non Governmental Organization (NGO)
  but tried to minimize their relationship with the United Nations by
  stating they were only library card holders.

  In its publications the WBTS has clearly referred to the UN as the
  ‘scarlet coloured beast’ of Revelation, the ‘disgusting thing’ of
  Daniel, the enemy of God and therefore Christians should have nothing
  to do with it, yet the WBTS promotes and supports UN activities in
  their publications.

  Why would the society compromise such strong beliefs just to use the UN Library? Are there not any other libraries in New York?

  how do you visualize a year?

  in my mind, i see a year as a sphere, where january is on top, and july in on the bottom.

  january 1st---------on top of the sphere.

  This is an interestin question. I was just talking about this with a friend of mine not too long ago. He asked me the same question. The weird thing is I had an answer for him. I see a year in the shape of hoarseshoe that closes at the end. If you can picture that. I'm weird like that. Maybe I need therapy.......Again!......... LOL
