  Kingdom Hall talk about 9/11

  i was listening to a talk on www.freeminds.org where this circuit overseer was discussing the impact that the events in n.y.c.

  had on the brothers at bethel.

  the major reason it was on the site was different than this point but i found this appalling enough for it to stand out in my mind.. it amazed me that this person, in discussing what happened, constantly encouraged the listeners to imagine the effects that the "brothers in bethel" must have felt to have to see such horrific events.

  This is so true. The only time you hear a JW pray for anyone other than their fellow members is when they are praying either for God to save them or for their destruction. (The latter more often)

  Imagine if they were to pray for non-jws over all well being on a regular basis or only at disastrous times.

  This would probably get their minds thinking: "Maybe God does approve of more people than just us. Maybe we do not have to attend all these meetings or go out on field service. If God will look after all these people who are not doing these things why should we?"

  JW have to constantly think that God approves of them only and he will only save them. Prayers for non-JW would contradict that.

  My # 1 CD of all time is any one of TRISHA YEARWOOD's cds!!!

  I know, I know just the words country music makes some of your ears bleed.

  But Trisha Y is amazing! She has such great vocal talent. Her songs are not twangy at all. She really is a great vocalist.

  I have her CD titled "Real Live Women" in my player right now.

  Spanish Music: Juanes

  He is a relatively new singer. He has some really great music. He writes all his music and lyrics.

  His songs are about love and some social issues.

  do you feel a memorial on a hwy is offense?

  here in wisconsin, around 6months ago we had a terrible crash on one of our freeways because of fog and driveing to fast for conditions.there were many casualities, anyway many persons who loved ones died in that crash have memorials at the sight such as crosses ,flowers ,etc.well it seems the county were this happened wrote letters to all persons leaving memorials to stop ,their saying it is a road hazard and a distraction to drivers.well now we hear it is non religious people are complaining , saying it is offense to them to have to drive by these shrines.

  i feel if they dont like it they should close their eyes.

  I am sorry for those of you who have lost loved ones. I know it is hard to deal with your grief and this is just how some people deal with it.

  I cannot tell people how to griev.

  But, I do think it is better for people not to leave such things where their loved ones were killed. Others are right, there are cemetaries for this. I do not like seeing such things on the sides of roads or freeways either. It really can be a distraction to drivers.

  If heaven does exist (I am not saying it doesn't-I just don't know) your loved ones know how much you love and miss them.

  Unusual statement in June 1, 2003 Watchtower

  in the second study article of the june 1, 2003 watchtower, discussing how jehovah's witnesses should react when "gog of magog" (satan the devil) attacks them just before armageddon, page 21, paragraph 16 says, in part:.

  how will god's servants react?.

  "as never before, true christians will then need to place their confidence in fellow worshipers authorized by jehovah and his reigning king to take the lead.

  This is contradictory because the WT identifies the "faithful and discreet slave" as the collective group of anointed JWs living on earth at the present time, including FEMALE anointed JWs. So for the WT to limit their leadership to "faithful men" and at the same time also the "faithful and discreet slave", is inconsistent with their own doctrine

  interesting.........

  ok with the death of nina simone today at 70, i got to thinking about other great artists who have died.

  many would say elvis, but he wouldn't feature if i had to pick just 3. mine would go something like this.

  3. tammy wynette (stand by your man was a song that'll always remind me of my grandad who died 10 years ago, always makes me smile and remember him, and her collaboration with the klf circa 1992. justified and ancient.

  Patsy Cline Ritchie Valens Buddy Holly Billie Holiday E lvis John Lenon Roy Orbison Judy Garland Karen Carpenter Karen Carpenter certainly did have an amazingly, beautiful and flawless voice. I remember hearing her Bio somewhere and she never had to redo anything in the studio. Her style and technique was pefect. Patsy Cline also had a beautiful and powerful sound. I never heard anyone sing with such emotion. Her music is timeless.
