by UnDisfellowshipped ini just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't hear about it yet, that the silentlambs (jehovah's witness child abuse victims) are going to be interviewed tonight on "cbs evening news" (6:30 eastern time; 5:30 central time).. i believe child abuse survivors heidi and amber, and also bill bowen are going to appear on the program, but i am not 100% sure.. i saw the tv commercial for the interview, and the commercial said it was coming on tuesday, april 29th, 2003 on cbs evening news!.

The memorial held--in Prince's concert hall!

i know most will not believe this, but the cologne or navarre mn hall held their memorial in prince's digs--the place where he has had many local concerts.. in case you did not know, he is now a baptized witness; not a rumor; i have sources from that state who were there when they announced mr and mrs prince nelson as new brother and sister.. i can't imagine what went thru the elders' minds; who in their right mind can not see this as a tiny problem with conflict?

I cannot imagine him changing his lefestyle to fit JW standards. I hate to call you a liar but I just can't

by kls inwhat is it that really irritates you ,i mean the most annoying ,thing that when you see it or hear it you just clench your teeth,we all have them so let's hear yours.mine is religious boasting.there is this home builder that advertises on tv and says his crap then says we are a christien company.oh yes , because he said that i would trust him more then anyone else,he must have higher standards.
(ya right).or those people who advertise with bumper stickers of their religion,and yes the freaking door bell ringers trying to push their crap on me.isn't it what you feel inside?why advertise to everyone?does it make you feel more important or more religious?because of the attempt to show me that you have faith does not make me feel i could trust you.
this is just one of my irritants and hope not do offend,everyone has the right.

TheStar - Re: Identity - I too was surprised at the plot twist. It was unexpected, at least for me. It kept me on the edge of my seat too. But I'm a big scardy-cat so that might not mean anything.
The weekend before last I saw Malibus Most Wanted. That was ok. I laughed a lot more in the second half of the movie. I give it a B.

Before You Actually Stopped Meetings, How Many HATED Being There?

I believe it is unscriptural to make others shun DF'd ones.
Whether or not you choose not to associate with an individual should be a personal decision.
I know people in my life that I feel are not such great people to be around. I limit my association with them. I don't go around telling others not to talk to them or hang out with that person. That is up to each and every individual. Of course parents have the responsibility to monitor their children’s association.
Re: Child Molesters - I say kick them out of the congregation altogether for the safety of the children. If they repented and found God then that is fine with me but they can worship him on their own-alone.

Bay Area Dubs
by truthseeker1 ini just talked to my ex about her weekend and she said something that really disturbed me.
she spent the weekend up in the bay area (sf area of ca) with a bunch of dubs.
she was telling me about them and made the comment of them being different from the stuffy here in fresno.

Truthseeker1 - My guess would be that your sister is exaggerating. She probably did notice a more relaxed congregation than others but it probably wasn't as free as she tried to make you believe.
Sloboy made some very good points. JW are always trying to get people in by saying things that contradict themselves.
I have a perfect example: (I am sure I posted this a million times on other topics)
When my sister talks to me about going back to meetings she always tells me: "Come back to meetings you can find a good brother in the org. You can't trust any worldly guys they are all the same. All they'll do is lie and cheat on you"
Then in the very next sentence she says "look at so-n-so she broke up with her worldly boyfriend for Jehovah. And he was so nice he seemed like a really good guy, too bad he didn't want the truth.
They totally contradict themselves all the time! Which is it? Is he a nice guy or a jerk just like all non-JW men?

Son Graduating end of May but...
by SheilaM inmy son will be graduating may 29 then leaving for bootcamp the 11 or so of june.
i find it so sad that most of the people i sent invitations to weren't family ( i have no dub family and most of thunder's is out too) i didn't bother sending my dad an invitation since he has gone to none of his granchildren's graduation, (oooh don't get me going on him

Congrats on your son graduating!!!
You must be really proud. Try to focus on his graduation and making the day as special and memorable as possible for your son as well as you and your hubby.
This will keep your mind busy. It must be really hard not having your family around a special times in your life. My thoughts are with you.
