I was one of those dumb-ass JW's that really believed all the WTS BS about showing concern for the flock. When I was a Book Study conductor or even just the assistant to the Book study Conductor I would make a note of missing people in my group and call them after the Sunday Meeting. If I got their answering machine I would just tell them I noticed their absence and was just letting them know they were missed, hoped everything was fine, and if it was not, they were welcome to call me. I even did this for people outside my Book Study. I called one Brother 40 times in the coarse of four years. How do I know this? He told me. When I split for 30 days, as a test of their love, know how many calls I got?....0! When I started to fade, the one brother I called all those times called me once and came right out and said, "I am not going to ask what is up with you." and he had become an Elder! I got his ass off the phone right then. They never called or asked about me until I sent out the Baptism Nullification letter to the 500, and then only cause I was in their face! They do prove false to its power! Maverick

Nice to have you. With a little deprogramming you will be happier than when being a J-Dub. Read up, and know you are not alone in how you felt with the WTS. The fault lies with them and not you. Maverick The truth WILL set you free!

Do you talk baby talk to your pets?
by Maverick ini had this big macho guy who used to work for me and when i would stop by his trailer, (not kidding) to pick him up for work, (dui and again, not kidding) on his way out the door he would give his redhead, stripper girl friend, (see above) a peck on the cheek and walk over to his pit-bull, ( ) and just lavish all manner of love and affection on that big, ugly, and very stupid dog!
i am not making this up!
i would think, "what a looser!".

I can relate to onacruise. Every morning I take my coffee and sit in my sunroom to visit y-all, the computer has taken over the breakfast table, and one of my cats will hop up into my lap and bat my hands while I try to type! This is the only time she wants attention, unless her food dish is empty! Silly kitty! Maverick

A JWs thought on volunteering
by kls ini was reading our local paper and there was a article that a hospice has opened in our area and volunteers are needed to help take care of those who's time is very short.
i thought about it ,if i could handle seeing these people die in-front of me and seeing the sorrow on their loved one's face's , so i mentioned my thought's to my jw husband how i would like to volunteer at the hospice and help them with the caring they need before they die.
who did i think i was telling this to, his answer to me was ,,,,what ?

Blondie and Logan both brought out some valid points. I was always volunteering for something while a Dub in and out of the WTS. Even now I do volunteer work in the local community and for my local Mensa chapter. I took a class to be a poll inspector at the upcoming primaries. Found out they actually pay you to do that...does that still count as volunteering, it's about 25% of what I earn working my regular job?
What to meet cool people? Volunteer! Maverick

What are your best features?
by Maverick inthis is a three fold question, what do you feel is your best phyiscal feature and what is your best personality quality?
if you want you can add what you first notice about others, in the positive.. women have told me they really like my eyes, their hazel blue/green.
people in general tell me i'm very enthusiastic!

Cubans are over rated and usually stale because they are smuggled in and not kept under proper conditions. Buy Cubans for bragging rights and a good Dominican Republic or Yebor City cigar to smoke. Mav

I'm going to mis-spell these I'm sure, but I like Arturo Fuentis El Presidentias, about $8 a piece. Or Optimo Coronas, about $1 a piece. These are both very good cigars, most people who smoke will be OK with them.
