whats your inspiration min?.

or.. do you know of a secret " thought provoking question" website that you havent shared with us?.

do you have a crystal ball you consult every day and ask it " what can i ask today?".

as some of you on the board knew i was expecting a baby, i feel i should let you know that things have not worked out for us.. when i went for the 20 week ultrasound scan last thursday, severe problems were found with our baby's internal development.

only one kidney was detected, and it was very enlarged and polycystic.

there was no long term hope for the baby at all; if it survived to full term it could only live for hours at most.

You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

We lost your second child right after birth. It was so hard on me that I got "fixed" after that. I just couldn't go through that again. I hope you are stronger that I was.

Are we having an impact on the WTS?

thanks to pro-active people like simon i do believe we have an impact on the wts.

i think ex-witnesses are better adjusted and recover quicker because of these web sites.

i know i was able to deprogram and come to terms with being in that cult for 24 years much quicker than being divorced after 15 years.

Thank y-all for your responses. This web site and Randy's helped me alot to get past the guilt and exit phobia programs the WTS install on its membership. They claim to offer peace of mind but if fact steal a piece of your mind instead! Mav

Thanks to pro-active people like Simon I do believe we have an impact on the WTS. I think ex-witnesses are better adjusted and recover quicker because of these web sites. I know I was able to deprogram and come to terms with being in that cult for 24 years much quicker than being divorced after 15 years. Seven years I've been out of the marriage and I still have major issues, but I am over most of the WTS's BS.

I don't have any "hard" facts about our impact but I put this out to y-all.

What have you done to counteract the 'cult of Jehovah's witnesses?'

i know that many here would place jehovah's witnesses on a list of 'cults'.

personally i don't think they meet all the standard definition - but would class them as an 'authoritarian sectarian movement'.

at any rate, most of us would not want our neighbors to get caught up in the mind-twisting that we endured and from which we finally removed ourselves.. that said - have any engaged in successfull enterprises to counter the movement?

Last year I gave gift certificates to all my neighbors and included a note about my prior involvment with the Nit-Witnesses. I had some nice, simple discussions about the JW's during the coarse of the next few months. I understand, as relayed to my daughter from her active JW mother, I have "poisoned" the whole block and the territory card has a notation on it to not work this street. My neighbors are very happy with me for doing this, (plus they like the gifts). I gave out gifts to them this year as well, nice people!

If all ex witnesses did something like this we could really save a lot of potential victims. Almost everyone knows a JW or has one in the family somewhere.

I finally told them to back off

i called them and told the elders to not come to my house anymore.

i said i didn't want anyone from the kingdom hall to call on me.

Try to put the whole thing in perspective. What is an elder really? Some guy with a minimum of training who is convinced by a book publishing corporation that he has the Almighty's blessing and armed with that delusion feels compelled to use this fictional authority to impose said corporations will on you. He is the one that needs help! And who is an elders wife? Just some ding-dong lady who picked this loser for her life-mate. This should tell you how sound HER judgement is!

They are NOTHING!

So please don't let them upset you. Why give them that kind of power over you. Would you let the village idiot upset you? Of course not! These people are just Jehovah's Nit-Witnesses! Have fun with them, Lord knows they need to lighten up!
