What is up with Kirk Cameron?
by Markfromcali ini think that's his name - you know the kid from that show growing pains?
i knew he was in the left behind movie and i think maybe another apocalyptic one, but then i saw him on some evangelical show talking about how to 'witness' to people, spouting a simplistic 'technique' of showing how people are sinners against the 10 commandments and then telling them you can be saved.. one thing that stands out is i could swear his acting in gp was more convincing than this spaced out kinda look he had in this show.

My name is taken from the amazing Skippy Huxley. America's number 1 pop sensation, and winner of last season's 'American Idol'.
Perhaps like me, you were moved to tears when you heard Skippy's tender ballad of lost love, and bittersweet longing as expressed in his version of 'careless whisper' by Wham.
And I think we all know where we were at 'that moment' when Skippy did his now infamous encore. He performed a beautiful acapella rendition of 'The lonely bull' (El solo toro). Millions of viewers were awed, and felt that young Skippy was actually chanelling the spirit of Herp Alpert and the entire Tijuana brass.
Wiseacredom aside, I was reading some Aldous Huxley when I first posted on JWD.

it showed a father working with his son on a project, it showed a mother doing something with her daughter and it showed some younguns paying money for drugs.

I can't believe I did it!!!
by HadEnuf inwell my fellow compatriots, since i haven't posted any topics lately of an interesting or fascinating nature (and probably never have in the past either); i just thought you might all like to know that yesterday i took the plunge and put a closure on my 4 decades of being one of them there jw's.
you guessed it...i went and got myself a tattoo!
just needed to share this important moment in history.

Did you wear your badge outside the convention, so as to "give a witness?"
by truthseeker inthis year at the dc, we were expressly told to wear our badges at all times, even when going to a restaurant or some place else, so we could "give a witness.".
did any of you hear follow through with this arrangement?
did you have one of those "fantastic" experiences, when someone commented on your badge?.

I wore them sometimes, and boy did I feel like a moron. Going out to dinner with some lame badge that says, "Lovers of Godly Bible Freedom Worship Convention", was awful.
I suppose it gave a witness alright, 'stay the hell away from the bible banger.'
