  Did anyone else think that Sept 11 was Armageddon?

  i was in washington at the time (i work for the govt) when the attack occurred.

  i had a massive panic attack at first and then steeled myself and worked through the night as part of our emergency response team.. i was embarassed by my reaction.

  did anyone else have a similar experience?

  It was horrifying, but I didn't think it was the "Great Day of the wrath...and so forth."

  In fact we skipped bookstudy that night to see Belle & Sebastian. A more uplifting experience.

  Extreme Sports? Ever get counselled?

  when a jw, i began to get seriously into mountaineering / rock / ice climbing.

  somehow i escaped being counselled about it, by talking to an elder in advance of their finding out, and having a fit.

  statistics prove that more persons die from unroped "scrambling" than mountaineering with ropes).

  Most Annoying "Kingdom song?"

  what's a kingdom song you can remember singing that gives you the creeps now?

  mine is "move ahead" i think that was the title, anyway it has so much rhetoric... but the tune is so darn catchy.... darn.... in my opinion, those songs are the perfect example of mind control.

  The one with the line "like bees molested" always got me.

  "Flee to God's Kingdom!" Remember the part where it says, "...firm for his rule take your stand. (take your stand.) And maybe three people would mumble..."take your stand." I guess singing the part in parenthesis is optional.

  Did You Feel Bad About How YOU Treated Disfellowshipped Ones?

  being an elder, i could talk to df's ones to see how they're doing.

  the wt.

  tells the rank and file that those disfellowsipped are as "dead" in jehovah's eyes.

  Evil slaving at District Conventions.

  anyone plan on clowning these fools at their conventions?

  i don't necessarily mean shouting, holding placards, etc.

  but i do mean putting evidence of their covering up child molesting around.

  How about dressing up in a costume suit (Bob the Builder/ Spongebob/ Power Ranger), and handing out balloons to the kids that say....

  "THIS religion is a snare and a racket."

  Or maybe staging a bible drama outside depicting a "less popular" moment from the Bible. Like when Lot's daughter's got him drunk, or when God told Israel to kill the pagan babies.

  Wow! That's cool you guys have seen it.

  I found it completely depressing and uplifting at the same time. I'm not sure how that's possible but that's what it did for me.

  I'm going to watch it again tonight witht the "director's comments". I hope it will clarify some of the heavy symbolism etc..

  what are some of the foods you remember being served at district and circuit assemblies.

  i remember every sunday was roast chicken.

  also i remember them serving knockwurst and saurkraut.

  I remember a few circuit assemblies where some genius decided to rename the "hoagie."

  "Pioneer Sandwich" has a catchier sound. No kidding that's what they renamed them.

  Shasta cola being in short supply one year, a substitution was made. "Vess Soda." with the coolest tag-line...."The billion bubble beverage."
