9God Helps Everyone?
by ClassAvenger ini talked with a jehovah witness and he told me that god only helped those who obeyed him, that it said somewhere in the bible.
the discussion came when i told him about soldiers asking god for help.
he said that god wouldn't listent to them because the soldiers knew they were sinning by killing and they kept on doing it.

As a loyal JW, what made you to start doubting the Watchtower ???
by run dont walk ini'm sure all of us were loyal at one time to the watchtower, believing in all of it.
(some of us probaly hated it from day one as well but, ).
what were some of the first things that happened or were said, that made you to start doubting it and beginning the loss of your loyalty to the organization ??????.

i had doubts from the beginning, but accepted it because i did not ask for perfection from this organization. However, over the years i saw major misunderstandings from their parts. When the bible say something clearly, well they say, here how we should understand this and that.
There are too many of those statement. Bible does not need an interpretation of every sentence.

I agree with your correction, not bad sciences but bad scientists.
About praying, this is something i have been thinking also. I really don't know why God does not answer all prayers. When praying a lot and i don't see any results from praying i tend to give up hey how long should it take for God to answer me, hey i am not asking the impossible.
Many things i do not understand. I am still searching but there may be no answer to that.
When i die if i wake up on the other side i may ask the big boss that question.

How many of you were disfellowshipped?

i get the impression from reading posts that a great deal are.
i also noticed while i was studying with them that virtually everybody has/had a relative that was disfellowshipped or knew someone who is/was.

You have clearly demonstrated with your posts here that you are ignorant of evolutionary theory and science in general.
Well, i do not agree with this statement. Ithink i know very well what science is all about I major in chemistry at university. All my studies in college were in pure sciences.
Reality is Sciences don't have all solutions, they don't know everything. Facts are studying in sciences had shown me how ignorant we are. We are debating in the existence of God we are not all agree about him, well scientist are also debating on curent discovery, formulate theories, but on many instances don't agree with each other as for the final results. Very often their works get published and accepted in a strange way or the connections you have or the money that can be result of this, fame etc..
So just to say there are good sciences out there and bad one as well, often enough it seems like the bad one that people hear about (evolution for instance), the scientists that talk about the silyness of such theories are not welcome to do so, their carreer could take a major set back. The norme is don't go against the popular theory.

I do not conclude on feelings but the alternatives are not better they are not flawless. When weight what science offers and what the bible offers, i think believing in a creature that is above everyone else makes more sense.
I am expose to a lot of critical thinking but they have not explain why humans are so different from the rest of animals. (ability to think beyond survival). Why the need of spiritual beliefs? Why searching for something that does not exist.
I see humankind is searching for his creator. Without faith we will never believe in him, some required facts how much facts do we need to be satisfied?

Another New Rule-----You Can't Record Prayers at the District Convention
by minimus inmy mother told me that she got a video from a sister that already went to the convention.
the entire program was recorded except for the prayers.
the sister said the society says we have to shut off the recording if the prayer is being given.

I went to a gathering. Before the meal they had a women to make the prayer. I freaked out a bit since it was a women praying. This is the first time i have to deal with this situation, never before i heard a women praying in my whole life, i felt unconfortable. Will i do like the JW's by leaving the hall i was or stay. I had to reason myself a prayer is just a prayer no matter by who does it, male or female does not matter. It is the thought that matter.

My logic is this: I have search and read in many religious beliefs to the extend i had the information about them. I end up concluing that in all I have read with all the contradictions the bible seems to have. Still, the bible make more sense. In essence, the message is good I can stic to that.
But i do not believe that at death it is the end of everything.
Having faith in something you don't see is not easy though. Life is too complex to believe in evolution. Everytime I watch a tv program about evolution. Their explanations show there is an intelligent being behind it behind all this. So believing in God is more beneficial to me that way. I don't see other way or explanation to why are we on earth?
