Why don't the Watchtower just say that Jehovah's chariot is moving to Walkill because of the toll increases on the bridges and tunnels.

Evil Spirits
by LizLA indoes anyone on this forum have knowledge about casting out demons or evil spirits?
there's at least two of them that have been harrasing me even before i was a jw.
i recently attended a deliverance church to find some help but it was apparent that the holy spirit was missing from that church.

Personally, I don't see how burning sage and other strange cleansing rituals help get rid of demons/evil spirits.
Firstly, Jesus never did any of this, he used his power and the apostles asked for holy spirit to cast out the demons.
Do you really think that a spirit creature made up of exotic matter, who can cast and shape shift is going to be affected by herbs? They can walk through walls and doors.
I believe they exist. And they can cast images, because thought is gasoline to the body. They become whatever they wish to be. Thought is what gives them their arms and legs. Everything else is theatrics.

Is the Watchtower so assured of its members' loyalty it can do and say as it pleases?
by truthseeker ini don't know how any of you feel about this, but is it possible the watchtower society is so self-assured of its members' loyalty that it no longer cares what it says or does anymore?.
one example would be the constant admonition to practically worship the faithful and discreet slave.. another is changing the end of the calling of the anointed from 1935 to no fixed date, allowing the number of anointed to be at its highest for over 40 years.. what about the overlapping generations?
most non-jws, if pointed out the inconsistencies, would see the folly of this latest understanding, yet the rank and file swallow it, hook, line and sinker.. such changes are almost blatant, in your face, yet where is the anger, the rage, at yet another move of the goal posts?.

Is the WT so confident of the loyalty of its sheep that it no longer cares about its reputation?

I can hardly believe what I'm reading...sick.
These JW elders are criminals - the Society is criminal in its actions. Absolutely despicable.

A letter arrived in the mail
by truthseeker inmy wife received a letter in the mail from a jw she had known from school.
we have seen this sister about twice in the last ten years; the last occasion was 4 years ago.
she lives in another congregation a few miles away.. this sister heard that we had been "recently discouraged" - those were her words.

One more thing, the name and address on the envelope was typed, not handwritten, I don't know anyone who does this. I know some like to use preprinted return address labels. I almost threw the letter away thinking it was junk mail till I saw the name of the sender.
I wonder how this sister found out we were discouraged and what was said to her.

This sister heard that we had been "recently discouraged" - those were her words. It was a two page letter.
Page 1 was a "I've been where you are and I prayed and Jehovah answered my prayer." Page 2 invited us to return to the meetings.
We both became inactive over three years ago, and in the last two years we have not seen anyone from our own congregation. No one has called or asked us how we're doing. The elders seem to be leaving us alone. I can't understand why someone we don't know very well in another congregation reached out to us.
