I did read somewhere years ago that FBI had a file on Watchtower.

What Do You Think A CIA Or NSA Security File On The Watchtower And Tract Society And It's Governing Body Would Say?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm sure that a top secret security clearance not very high up the chain of command would show a ton of information, .
i mean everything that happens on the internet and on computers i'm sure is assessable to the us intelligence community, why would the government not pass up an opportunity to spy on it's population and run all internet data through homeland security to protect it's interest both home and abroad, realistically thinking that is.. so with this in mind what would a highly classified report look like?

Difficult to internalize that all the connections are gone
by truthseeker ini was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.
word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.
no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

I was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend. Word is in the hall that I used to go to is that "I am one of them" meaning apostate. No one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened. I've know this person and their two children, both now adults, for over 30 years. As I walked past the home I was reminded of the many times that my family and I were invited over to their home for dinner, BBQs etc. - and there is that awareness that those relationships, friendships etc, however you define them, are now over. I will never be welcome in that house again - ever. And I spent many occasions round there in my childhood.
It's a strange feeling when once you leave you can never pick up from where you left off. I would never go back of course but I do miss a lot of the folks there.

Are Beards becoming more acceptable due to decline in membership?
by UnshackleTheChains ini noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.
when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.
but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.

I can't remember where I heard this but "a beard more often reveals than conceals"

Please explain the Watchtower's "Ransom" for me
by Doug Mason inaccording to the watchtower:.
who received the ransom payment?.
why did the ransomer need to be paid?.
-
truthseeker
Whom did the Ransomer release?
Released us from the slavery to sin
Never understood this.
If someone kidnaps someone's child, the victim pays the kidnapper a ransom and gets his kid back. In this case, the price was paid but there was no immediate, tangible benefit.
We still sin, get sick and die.

Is All The Bad Publicity About The Watchtower Pedophile Lawsuits Causing Contributions To Nose Dive Worldwide?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think with all the child molestation lawsuits the watchtower corporation is and has been hit with is the main reason for all the prime property sell off recently.
the silent lambs protest back in 2001, and the dateline prime time expose probably was the death knell for the watchtower's hey day in brooklyn.. their membership is drying up, young people are leaving in droves, the situation is no doubt far worse than the annually published yearbook figures show and so they ceased it's publication permanently.
and those left remaining are experiencing a huge grab of money from their congregations accounts and now are required to make pledges about how much they can contribute which i think is a last ditch effort by the governing body to squeeze more money out of the rank and file watchtower indoctrinated drones.. i think all this is happening because even those still loyally attending are hearing reports of these tremendous pay out that the watchtower is making to the victims of their self serving policies that put young ones at great risks so that even the rank and file don't want to contribute to pay court costs and so are withholding giving contributions to a very great extent.

Slimboyfat,
I will shortly be working on a project to analyze all congregations in the U.K. and their contributions once the data has been pulled

If WT are cutting back on mags will they also cut back on Bethelites?
by truthseeker ini was thinking after hearing about the agm cutbacks to the mags and other website content surely they will end up dismissing more bethelites?
i would have thought in the old days, before the web, an artist or writer at bethel would have been a full time job making content for four 32 page mags a month.
now what are these guys going to do?.

In my hometown of Bognor Regis some sisters spend their mornings sitting on a bench on the high street with their literature cart. I've known one sister since I was a child and went up to her and said I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say hi. I said I know you're not allowed to talk to me. She said, yes, I know what you mean. They know I'm an apostate in Bognor Regis.

Everlasting life on a stick

Writing a book on Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses - suggestions welcome
by truthseeker inso i finally decided to start writing a book on exiting jehovah's witnesses.
i've been meaning to do this for a very long time.
there are so many books out there and i don't want to repeat what everyone else has written.. although the book will include some basic history of jehovah's witnesses and the usual doctrinal flaws, it's core audience are those who are thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving or have already left.. the book will contain case studies of people who've left and made a success of their life.

Hi scratchme,
i kept it generic but will take your advice. I want to cover as many groups and situations as I can.
