Not first human as you're thinking but an improvement over prehistoric humans. As for where Neanderthals came from I don't have an answer.

Are you a Christian Who Accepts Evolution?
by cofty inif you identify as a christian but you have accepted that the diversity of life - including humans - resulted from a process of biological evolution could you add your name please?.
just to be clear i am referring to the fact that our physical lineage could literally be traced back all the way to non-human species.. if you like maybe you could comment on why you see not conflict between evolution and your christian faith.. there is a tendency to conflate evolution with atheism.
it would be good to show that this is not the case..

Cofty,
I identify with Christianity. With that being said, I believe each species reproduces according to its kind. That's not me being a fundie. I have never seen a cat give birth to a dog or a monkey to a human.
I'm agreeable with macro evolution to an extent. But for their to be subtle changes over millions of years would require some 'intelligence' on the part of an organism. You don't just grow a pair of eyes because you crawled out of a cave. Macro evolution allows for variation, even hybrids - but hybrids don't reproduce so any interspecies births die at that generation.
Now onto another subject and you can chuckle if you will.
I believe man was already on this planet but as a Neanderthal. Modern humans are not designed to survive this planet's harsh conditions without shelter and clothes. Prehistoric man had more hair to protect the skin from cold weather.
I've done a lot of research and it's theory that I state. I feel that off-worlders came to this planet, saw prehistoric humans and that is when they said 'let us make man in our image and our likeness.' Prehistoric man's genetic DNA was altered to reflect the 'image and likeness' of those planetary masters.
Yes, I've been reading the works of Zechariah Sitchin.
It's possible that the story of Adam and Eve (being the first modern humans) could have a grain of truth to it. I'm not talking about the snake in the garden but the start of modern humans. And Cain married one of the prehistoric females instead of his sister. And there were enough people on the Earth (Neanderthals and a handful of modern humans) for Cain to build a city.

Reading this 16 year old thread jogged a memory I had talking with a brother from Croydon who told me a prominent brother in the London bethel had been reproved due to alcoholism and now worked as a gardener in the Bethel grounds. Could this have been Chitty? I quote from Alan F's first post in this thread where he says: " Likely this contributed to his being dismissed from Brooklyn and reassigned to the London Bethel a few years later. There he worked at an assignment of little responsibility"

Most Popular Boys Name in England?
by cofty inanybody want to guess?
for some years the office for national statistics tried to hide the answer by counting different spellings as different names.
it no longer matters.

It's true that not all Muslims are terrorists. However, their cultural and religious belief system will never willingly integrate with Westerners and our European values.
While European birth rates decline, Muslim birthrates will always be higher and Westerners will be a minority in a few short decades.

Has the Bible been redacted so that YAHWEH can be promoted to EL's position as Almighty God?
by I_love_Jeff infor background, read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/yahweh, the section, "iron age i: el, yahweh, and the origins of israel.
" "el and his sons made up the assembly of the gods, each member of which had a human nation under his care, and a textual variant of deuteronomy 32:8–9 describes the sons of el, including yahweh, each receiving his own people.
"el, the kind, the compassionate,' 'the creator of creatures,' was the chief of the canaanite gods, and he, not yahweh, was the original 'god of israel'—the word 'israel' is based on the name el rather than yahweh.

David_Jay,
How do you interpret Exodus 24?
9 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

Vienne,
Please tell me me the significance of Russell wrapping himself in a Roman toga the night he died on a train on Halloween. I heard about this from the esoteric researcher Jordan Maxwell.

Today's W.T on GB not being inspired is having ZERO impact on most J.W's
by Isambard Crater inthe congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..

Wasn't their something in the Kingdom Ministry that once said we should view what the GB say as if it came from the mouth of Jehovah?

Would human settlement of Mars invalidate Bible prophecy?
by truthseeker ini don't think this topic has been discussed before but yesterday i read something to the effect that trump wants a human mission to mars to be completed within his presidency.. with that being said, the watchtower teaches that what started on earth ends on earth, in other words, the fall of adam and eve would end with the passing of the 1,000 year millennial reign when christ destroys all his enemies, rebellious "perfect" humans, and the devil and his demons who are let out the abyss for a short while.
he then hands the kingdom back to his father.
an elder in my old congregation once told us during a public talk that he was an ardent astronomer but then referenced the scripture where it says, "the earth he has given to the sons of men" (psalms 115:16).

An elder in my old congregation once told us during a public talk that he was an ardent astronomer but then referenced the scripture where it says, "The Earth he has given to the sons of men" (Psalms 115:16). He told us that man was breaking God's laws by leaving the Earth that Jehovah had given to humans and landing on the moon.
Acts 17:26 says "He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation."
My point is, that with all of Biblical prophecy focused on this planet, Earth, (people living at that time of writing had no idea the Earth was even a sphere), what would become of Bible prophecy once man really does land on Mars and establish a colony?

Russia banning JWs might not have the "persecution effect" this time
by truthseeker inrussia banning the organization might not have the same effect as the earlier ban did decades ago.. more and more people have access to the internet.
it only takes a few russian jws to start their google search for the first time to discover the truth about their religion.. questions might arise, such as "why is jehovah allowing this to happen?
consider too, the schism that happened when the romanian jws were cut off from brooklyn.

Consider too, the schism that happened when the Romanian JWs were cut off from Brooklyn. They ended up apostasizing.
Social media and the internet may not allow the persecution complex that JWs experienced under communist Russia.
