I just shake my head at the brothers who dress to the tee (bow tie, crisply pressed shirt, suspenders, bold cuff links, designer glasses) who stand out even in the middle of an JW assembly. Dude, get a clue,you cut grass for a living.

my husband said that his brother in law, who is an elder, called and said that there were going to be some big announcements tonight and to bring a notepad, because you will want to take notes.. does anybody know about this and what are the announcements?

A small observation from the AGM...

2 kids about ages 8 & 5, frazzled hen-pecked husband, and....the mom.

What happened in 97-98 to reduce the increase?

I'am in the Penalty Box! I asked the Circuit Overseer "Who Donates Blood For Jehovah's Witnesses Blood Fragments".
by AuntConnie intold my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.
we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".
said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.

What is happening in Mexico?
by ILoveTTATT ini have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

DATA-DOG you are correct. Also, the perks of living the resort life-style loses its luster when you have to contend with drug cartel goon shake-downs and other unpleasant realities like kidnapping, getting fingers surgically "aputated" by Mexican doctors on the cartel payroll and such.

This occured at a CA a few years ago...had to share. The chairman introduced our new CO from the stage on Saturday and he mistakenly said: "And let me introduce our new CO, Timothy McVey (as in Oklahoma City bomber)...um that is Timothy McXXX". Poor Br. Tim just stood there in front of the whole Circuit and proceeded with saying a few words about himself. Meanwhile, the inept chairman went on as if nothing. I let out an audible gasp and looked around to see if anyone else had caught it...I guess not!
