The new 'classes' jehovahs-witness.net has created. Which one are you?
by Esse quam videri inover time a number of different 'classes' of members have arisen on this forum.
1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.
2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.

Giordano: "The knockout married her Bible Study".
i've seen cases like that, where the previously unbaptized fellow is practically saying his "I Dos" as he is coming up out of the baptism pool.

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

No Rock group posters, or for that matter no non-WT art department religious pictures. Sorry, even the grandma's ole lighted "Sacred Heart of Jesus" frame has got to go.

Suicide Prevention Counseling
by MrCellophane inin the 1980's when i was an elder, i don't remember the society providing any guidance to elders on suicide prevention counseling.
i realize much has changed since then.
can any current/recent elders update me on what the current position of the local elders would be if approached by someone in the congregation contemplating suicide and seeking help?.

The should have asked the KH toilet for his opinion about that brother. KH bathroom can be pretty revolting. -

"The governing body has asked me to..."
by OverlappingGeneralizations ini have heard that phrase several times on the jw broadcast, uttered by gb members!
"the governing body has asked me to bring to your attention (whatever)".
aren't you the governing body?

Because they believe that the GB is the Faithful Slave only when acting as a group and not as individuals. But I believe they do that to distance themselves legally from the outcome of their policies. "Gong!"...Sorry Geoffrey, doesn't work like that.

Uh-oh, the elders want to pay us a visit!!
by BeautifulMind inso, hubby gets contacted today by one of the elders saying 2 of them want to pay us a visit and asks him when we are available.
we both had the heart drop feeling for a few minutes lol.
but he promptly, and politely, informed them that we are very busy but he will let them know when we are free.

Beautifulmind: " We both had the heart drop feeling for a few minutes lol."
Your kidding, right? Ok, good. I would tell them to go make a call on Sister Widow or a needy Pioneer brother in the hall instead because we are fine, thank you.

What woke you up?
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inin march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.
so what woke me up?
an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

Stumbled on to E-Watchman and found out about the UN/NGO association; that shattered my whole image of WT. Later found this forum which further confirmed my doubts. -

What were you favorite book in the organization? I know what you're thinking...LOL!
by BashfulAshG inwhat were *your favorite *books in the organization?.
out of all of those books, i liked "mankind's search for god.
" however, it appears to me that this book is incredibly obscure and no one recalls studying it during the old book study format.

Come on you all, what about "Learn from the Great Teacher"? The compassion and tenderness depicted in the illustration where Jesus heals the leper still brings a tear to my eyes. -
