Anyone getting baptized at a non-JW church in 2004?
by brianhenke in.
anyone who is planning on getting baptized in another church (ie, not jw) in 2004.. i'm planning on joining a church where people do get dunked in a pool wearing "modest beach attire" (as jws might say), but it's not going to be in front of thousands of strangers.
this church does not twist the bible, like the borg does.. .

Hi there. Anyone who is planning on getting baptized in another church (ie, not JW) in 2004.

Hawaiian Convention
by Kenneson injw's are holding an internation convention in hawaii this weekend with over 12,000 delegates from several countries in attendance.
there are approximately 8,000 members who live in the islands.. see "jehovah's witnesses mix it up in waikiki" and related article "jehovah's witnesses convention open to all" at.

The Star-Bulletin has two baptism photos (it looks like the majority were Witness kids). Go down the menu to "Island Images" and you'll see them (in inverse order).

Sydney Convention
by why144000 inany reports on the international convention at telstra stadium sydney?
the attendents and staff were checking for identification (lapel cards) big time on sunday.
they told a couple of young bro's that they would not be allowed readmittance if they left the stadium and did not return with a lapel.

I may post them when I print them.
I heard that the 500 or so people baptized was Australia's largest ever, JW or non-JW. I remember hearing that 1000 got dunked into the Borg in Melbourne many years ago...

Letterman tells a JW joke
by brianhenke ini'm waiting to hear david letterman make fun of mariah carey's glitter or from justin to kelly, but dave told a jw joke on last night's show:.
he was cleaning up his house after el blizzardo 2003 hit new york, and he found two newspapers and a jehovah's witness.. .
i still think the all-time funniest jw joke was still the weakest link episode where this happened:.

Anne Robinson (remember her?): In religion, the Jehovah's Witnesses distribute Awake! and what another magazine? Contestant (hesitates for a few seconds): Mad.

Er, I haven't been a witness (hey, mark my B-day next week) - but several years ago someone gave me a WT tract while she was driving me a car.
On January 1, no less. I study (hah!) the latest Witness news from around the world - just last week, 214 were baptized at the International Convention in Copenhagen. But I've been in a KH, though!
Well, anyway I am thinking about joining a church (not JWs) where people wear bathing suits to their immersion!
