FLAT TAX

as far as the argument that taxes are "punishing" the rich for their success, answer this. what is the primary purpose of an organized government? Is it not to protect the interests of wealthy people? Who set up the first governments and why? the owners of land and capital to protect their property from peasants. OK so what about social welfare, if government is just there to protect the interests of the wealthy than why have welfare? By making sure poor people have the bare minimum to survive on you ensure that they dont just take what they dont have and need, after all the survival instinct is the strongest one we possess. Why can a rich person steal a million dollars from their company and only get a slap on the wrist, yet a poor person who robs a 7-11 for $100 will get 10 yrs or more? this wasnt just an oversight I assure you.

sales tax is a tax on poor people. Rich people can avoid paying sales tax a lot easier than poor people can and it would be a much smaller percentage of their income. all the "rich" people crying about the taxes they pay here should move to Europe where the taxes are about 45% or more. the top 20% wealthiest people control 80% of the country's wealth, of course they should pay the most taxes. do you propose the bottom 80% who only have 20 % of the wealth, with the bottom 20% of that group having basically nothing, to pay the same as the top 20, that is asinine. if you want to save money how about doing away with tax breaks for corporations, the US pays a lot more for corporate welfare than they do social services.

I hope for either Kerry, Dean, Edwards or Sharpton. Definitely not Lieberman or Clark, might as well vote for Bush if they win the nomination. Its too bad that Dean has been fading so bad lately I think he has been unfairly targeted by the consevative media but hes partly to blaim that comes with the territory and he was the biggest threat to their establishment. I just hope that when whichever candidate gets the nomination they stay true to their promises and not fade to the right to take votes away from Bush.

ive used it before. it is worth it if you watch around 10 movies a month or more. they have an amazing selection which is cool because i like to watch foreign movies which are not that easy to find at you local blockbuster. but for me it wasnt worth it because i only have a couple of hours of leisure time every night and i have to choose between going to the gym, watching a movie, playing nintendo, watching TV or going out. well i dont always feel like watching a movie so i dont usually see 10 movies a month, probably more like 5 or 6 in which case its not worth it.

maybe that is why the coup happened a few years ago, the bethel "heavies" as JT calls them realized that just one or two governing body members could bring the whole religion down if they had a COC so they took their power away and left them with just their empty titles.
