? for those who are anti-capital punishment
by StinkyPantz inthis question goes out to people who are against capital punishment under any circumstances.
i'm talkin' like even if you saw the crime on video, you still believe that cp is wrong because all life is sacred; or because god judges everyone not man.. i was just looking over spice's thread "could you kill?".
everyone so far has said that yes they would kill in order to protect family/friends.

Azalo
your scenario and CP are two entirely different things at least in my eyes. but i will humor it. if someone was attemping to harm my children and i could stop it by killing the perpetrator well i can only hope that i would be able to do it (i can not say if i could for sure since i have never been in a situation even remote close to this). however this is completely diffferent from state sanctioned killing which is what CP. i would not want this in any case because you would never be able to ensure any innocent people from being wrongly convicted, killing is only justified (in my opinion) in self defense or defense of another (doing so after the fact does not count as defence)... i'm too tired but that pretty much sums it up

Can Baptisms be anulled?
by Azalo ini was baptised when i was 12 years old and i dont feel like at that age i was mature enough to take such a drastic step.
i dont think its right to be df'd for something that i never really did since the baptism is really only a symbol of the dedication and i never did that.
i just was going along with the flow.

(Wow, I got a response by the legendary LT)
OK like I said earlier I faded away a long time ago. but i guess the scenario that I am talking about is as follows: a child gets batized at age 0-16, due to may reasons none of which are dedication to God or the WT. Later on said person has started to expand their intellectual horizons and think for themselves and realizes that this whole JW thing doesnt really fly for me I think I will quit but doesn't want to be ostracized from their family for a decision made when they were a "dumb impressionable kid". another way to say it is, is it fair to try children as adults?
does anyone know if the WT has ever considered putting an age requirement on baptism or do they only care about the numbers? I wonder if there is a stat that shows what % of baptisms are children.

what i meant was I dont think a person should be df'd who has never actually dedicated themselves as a JW even if participated in the symbol of the water baptism
BTW I faded away a long time ago and if I have been DF'd I dont know about it but it always has bothered me that they allow children to get baptised and I think that they should have an alternative way out without having to be completely shunned by their families. I mean when I was in I heard stories of 6 yr olds getting baptized, thats just ridiculous.
