So no one speaks up. No one is so angry at the society that they call Eyewittness news or 60 minutes? Because that's the only way, folks eyes would open. That they go public. Again, many have been exposed in this world, except the witnesses. That's what I don't get. I can understand if you are still there, but it you are DF'd or Da'd, what do you have to loose except to get many to open their eyes of what many already know. Again, I don't want the society to fall but that everyone serve not out of fear but because they love God. They say it's because they want to keep the congregation clean, but Blondie do you think it's possible to keep a congregation clean? Many places of worship folks are there because not out of fear but because they like it there. Folks join & folks leave, but if you leave, maybe a member might reach out to you, maybe not..Going to other places of worship makes you accountable to God & yourself.
I think the society feels many might be angry with them but they used the article to shove the anger onto God. But we know that God didn't speculate but they did.

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

If someone put you in a secure enviroment, all you knew was, what was in the place..only good, you never ever experienced anything bad, so you don't know what the opposite of good is...so when God said don't eat of this tree because....all they knew was what they had experienced...God never let them experience Bad things, so what did they know ? Yes free will and all, I do understand that, but if you don't know, you don't know. How many witnesses are in this world but have no idea what certain things are, innocent, to a certain degree...I'm not trying to excuse our parents Adam & Eve,but on the other hand, there is another way to look at it...Plus God made a rule & with rules, come laws...so as folks say, don't start none, won't be none. God, didn't want anyone to serve him like a robot...but, I'm not God, could he have thought of another way for them to display free will...Plus, why is God mad at everybody because of 2 people...would he be angry with us if we had a beef with an neighbor but also beefed with the entire family...
I am an animal lover so I get upset when innocent animals are killed or are sick, they are so helpless...plus the animal kingdom is much more balanced then the human kingdom...survival of the fittest....but I do wonder Why God takes it out on animals...
God is forgiving....& he is Love....you got to hand it to him for coming up with a back-up plan.....immediately....Hats off to God...

This is the first time I read all of this..I went to the meeting yesterday re: Do not be mad at God....
What this is really saying...hold on everybody..THIS IS NOT GOD'S ORGANIZATION....so don't be angry with God, be angry at the interpreters of God..MAN.
Why is this organization like Teflon, that to me seems to be the real question....why does everyone know, yet, they don't know ? I have been on sites re: JW's, child abuse, disfellowshipping, FDS are only men, now there are women, now there are no men....& so on...all of this exposure of behind the scenes, yet, they still continue. So, no matter what is said on all these sites, nothing comes of it...
I am newly baptized & I did all the research on them, the good the bad & the ugly...I know who they are...there are some nice folks in the org. & some not so nice folks...I have gone to other places of worship, what makes them different...Nothing at all, only the doctrine. You could go to a baptist church & the pastor is sleeping around with the sisters, or he may be gay, Catholics, sleeping with the nuns, maybe even drinking the communion wine...There is no paradise on this earth....I'm not saying that they have the entire truth but they do have a ring of truth...just like other denominations...The only truth if you want to believe it..is the Bible...& all the Bible really is, is Life Lessons...Just when you start to point out a flaw in a person, if you keep reading, you'll see your flaw too..As they say, when you point at a person, one finger is pointing at the person, but the other four are pointing back at you....There is no place on earth where you can find pure worship...no place.
Now maybe if all the friends sent a letter to the org. & say, we ain't mad at God/Jehovah, we mad at you...ah, sorry, angry ah sorry again, enraged...wonder how that would playout in a WT (study edition). The entire world knows about the witnesses except the witnesses....I'm a witness but I'm a thinking one & I don't let on....I just keep it moving & keep my thoughts to myself & share them on sites, like these...Someone asked me if I want to see the org. fall, no not at all, I want people to serve not out fear but Love..

i have believed in the 1914 jw core teaching for more than 20 years.
but now, after seeing much about this date, i find it uncomfortable and odd to believe it unquestionably, much less defend it against opposing thoughts.
I read my examining the scriptures daily. This book has led me to so many scriptures that contradict the JW doctrine. I read Matt. 28:18, a long time ago...so when they came up with the 1914, or should I say when I first saw it...I said to myself, Jesus said this just before his going to heaven, was that 1914. Even re: Michael being Jesus, I read Hebrews 5, where is brings out..to which angel did God say you are my son ? There are so many contradictions. I had 2 bible conductors my first one, use to tell me...she only reads what she is told...She is now a pioneer & when she comes back from the meetings or pioneer school, she always says, she thought of me when they said certain things...Many things I tell her because I have learned life lessons & so I tell her stuff that she should know already...But I digress & just say how nice..I think our parents told us many of the things God is saying, but many didn't listen. Anyways, the more you read the bible the more you will see that man just interprets what he reads...& it changes depending on our experiences in life...if a child reads the bible/scriptures about marriage, it doesn't mean anything to them, they are children, but when they start to notice the opposite sex, then those scriptures take on a different meaning, because now they are looking for a mate. I don't think there is any place of worship man can go for the truth....it's all man's interpretation, & we are all different..
The Org. will continue with their dates & their speculations, & if this system continues, they'll come up with something else. Most of us will have gone on...
Has anyone ever wondered if the JW org. will one day just not be anymore ? The Catholics, & other religions are still here inspite of all the wrongs they do...Maybe just maybe, God isn't bringing the end when the witnesses say, just so man isn't the one to call it....He could be saying I'm God & I'll end this system when I'm good & ready & no man is going to take the credit..this is my call..People.

my question: if i actively participate in my own disfellowshipping byfollowing along with the practice of shunning (not greeting, not raising hand at meeting to comment, showing up to go out in service, no conversations at all with jws) does that effectively men that i condone and accept the punishment rendered by the elders?

Just wondering, does anyone feel that Disfellowshipping is right, even though the witnesses say it's in the bible...I'm not really asking if one feels it's right but is it really scriptual ? Is 1 Cor. 5:1-15...is that really what this is saying ? Or are these scriptures basically re: incest ?

Where is that scripture about Jesus and the adultress ? Was it because Jesus didn't DF her or shun her ? Why do they use 1 Cor..such & such, as the scripture to support DF'ing ?

I have spoken to a re-instated sister and she said by the time they see you, you are pretty much out. I am baptized, but this DF'ing I seem to get stuck on. What really bothers me is that many of the friends like the fact that the org. does this. They say it keeps the congregation clean. That's not possible...nobody in the org. is clean.. It seems they like when folks get disciplined. What kind of person likes to see that. Reminds me of a lynching mob, & when they go to see the hanging, they bring pop corn & candy. Is it a hardened heart, a vengeful heart. I feel sorry for a DF'd person, no matter what they have done...short of murder, stealing, lying (not the fibs)...stuff like that..no, but the stuff that normal folks do...why bother..Sex, is mostly everybodies stumbler..It just bothers me that most of the friends have no empathy for DF'd folks...
I was talking to a sister last night & she said, it's a process. So, I'm just putting it out there..to hear other's stories. Is it a process to or do they just listen to the tattle taler ?

I agree, doesn't it seem that some religions are like teflon, nothing sticks...I've read so much on this site & it seems to be public knowledge & yet, these Org. just keep marching on. What about Karma ? It's not so much I want the Orgs. to fall but at least make the congregations aware & let them decide to stay no matter what, but at least give them a chance. Look at Catholics, lately really bad press, but not to say folks haven't walked away, but the ones that stay are aware & they are there because they want to be there, not out of fear. I have never seen so much talk about JW's & all their misleading & wrong speculations & yet, nothing is said of done. Could it be that there are not enough witnesses to even care about ?

most of us here on jwn, while we can get a bit narky at times, can put forth intelligent arguments and sound observations.
sure we can get bogged down with our opinions, but generally we back up our opinions with examples and evidence, and if someone has a different opinion with examples and evidence, we accept that without recriminations.
that's what adults do.. so my question is, why in the last week or so, have a couple of posters claiming to be jws come onto this forum and berated, spewed hate and judgement, and in some cases verbally attacked members personally?

I agree with many of you. I am a new witness. Many times I share my faith, & if they don't agree. No problem. For many witnesses this is their life, this is their last stop or last line of defense. This is their foundation. To tell them this is not God's Org., would turn them up side down. They could not function. So they come back with hate because this forum has rocked their world.
I think their basic problem is having Faith. Faith in what they preach. See they have cleaned themselves up, they are now morally clean but that's not enough. Faith is what gives a christian peace, and comfort. They are so busy spreading the good news, they forgot to take it in themselves. Going out in service is what they think will wipe the slate clean. Many of them that come on this forum know many of the replies are correct, but they can't bring themselves to believe it. It can't be true...this is God's org...that is the first mistake...God is not partial...this says it all.
Twice sisters told me about my dressing..well, I loved bomb them, & they went scattering away, proud that they corrected someone. If you love bomb them, that takes them off their game...I told one sister...thank you so much, I'm glad you told me & not an elder & girl, don't you worry, I'm good, now go get some sleep....In life we are all going to be critisized & you will eventually critisize someone as well. So it's best to get over it...or better still, get over ourselves....If you even read other sites, they are not as nice as this one is...there are witnesses & non-witnesses on that site & they go at it...Most of the witnesses on that site are really rude...even if you ask a simple question, they come back at you with both barrells loaded...
This by far is a nice forum where one can leave & get support or stay & vent until they/I get the nerve to leave...
Many of the witnesses don't have an outlet, so they are depressed & sometimes that turns into hate...
Why is the Dead sea dead....NO OUTLET..
