this is a letter i wrote to the society after someone asked me out in service about herbert w. armstrong and his teachings.

that was the excuse, anyway.

in fact, i had been reading some of armstrong's literature, too, and was curious what the wts would have to say about him.

i had a close friend who left the borg before i did.

i hope even more that they're used ineffectively and no one gets hurt, contaminated, or killed.

but i try and imagine this guy facing the loss of it all, his own country and life included, why wouldn't he make the biggest mess he can before departure?

I have a nephew over there, probably close enough to see Iraq right now. I have friends living in Kuwait who don't have enough cash to get out. I hope you can realize just how stupid a statement you made at some point. This is war, not some idle game of ideas.

What TV station were you watching when the first plane struck?

this picture was famously portrayed in the media as 'the moment bush knew', as the media around the world told us, from white house statements, that bush heard of the twin tower attacks when his chief of staff, andrew card, spoke in his ear in the classroom as he addressed the children.. on december 4th 2001, cnn were broadcasting live coverage of a "town meeting" at the orange county convention center in orlando, florida, where president bush was answering non-challenging questions from a sycophantic audience.

then bush made a startling statement about september 11th: -.

the president: thank you, jordan.

Me and another guy at work were trying to fix an automation controller for a robot when someone told us about the first plane. We didn't believe it. The guy came back and said a second plane hit. He was kind of a joker so we didn't really listen. When they said the pentegon was hit we left everything on the floor and ran to the nearest TV. I think it was CBS by that time, but that was the only station we could tune in.

If They Found Out That You Were On This Board, What Would Happen?

if the elders, certain family members or your "friends" knew that you frequented this board, what do you think would happen in your life?......personally, i think a jc would be imminent, and i am not talking about the coming of jesus christ, either.

I'm already DA'd, so I could care less. My family, if they read this board, would be highly interested, of couse, but probably not suprised. On the other hand, I would be interested in what brought them to this board. That's a good thing!

Memoral time kids...... anyone going?

i don't about you all but being raised a jehovah's witness was so ingrained in me that going to the memoral seems the right thing to do at this time of the year.

so i for one will do it for no other reason other than i was trained that way, and of course i like the song they sing its touching and i am a big sinner lord have mercey!

. It's going to feel pretty weird, but at the same time I have no desire to go.

I know what you mean. The last one I went to was in 2000. It was an odd hall that I had never even been in, and the only meeting I had been to that year. No one knew who I was and they all preyed upon me like a newly interested one. I never went back again and it doesnt feel odd at all now.

In fact it would be VERY odd now to see a hundred or so folks pass around some crackers and cheap wine while NOBODY drinks or eats it.
