  How did you find your job?

  often, i speak to people who seem to have good jobs.

  when i ask how they got that job, then they tell me that finally it came down to good contacts.. many jobs i had were also because of good contacts.

  naturally, having a college or university degree is what it takes, but having contacts seems to be what opens doors.. so, how did you find your job, with help from an influencial person, or all by yourself?

  i have another question if you all would be so kind as to enlighten me.

  after reading hundreds of posts here, i understand now why some people stay in the wts even though they would like to leave.

  the loss of friends, family members and such from this bizarre practice of "shunning" could be devastating in the lives of some people.

  A person in that situation would probably not go through with a Judicial Tribunal Committee, since he has no reason to go though it, though he might just to be cantankerous and try to prove a point to the elders. He/She might, however right a letter stating their reasons for leaving, or just that they were leaving, in order to formally sever ties with the religious organization. That person would be considered Disassociated.

  I'm in Red China!

  well, i've been in beijing for a good while already, and tomorrow i leave for xian.

  it was quite an adventure getting here.

  we flew out of tokyo/narita bound for beijing on ana airlines, and after 20 minutes in the air, i finally caught a glimpse of mt.

  are jws to be vilified for having such a community?

  mormons, sda's, catholics, protestants, jwders, jwoers, jwfers, jwcers, etc, etc?.

  i submit that it isn't what they think about us...it's what you feel within yourself.. as ex-jws, do we have the courage to really face ourselves, and say "this is me!

  I kept all my softcore porn hidden inside Hot Rod, Hot VW's and Popular Science Magazines once the hormones kicked in. Other then that I could read whatever I wanted most of the time. My parent's were not particularly restrictive when it came to entertainment. They were cautious, as would I be with my own children, but I have to say, considering all the pressure within the JWs to do things a certain why, my folks did what they thought was best.

  did that rule come from the society or from a safety law on the books(fire hazard)?.

  if i take a baby stroller to the dc will i get kicked out?
