It is very sad to read these memories from you all. I was very fortunate in that my parents did not follow the party line when it came to children. It must have taken some nerve for them.
But I was lucky. I do remember many other children did get beaten at the hall. And like another poster, I remember some poor kid yelling out for Jehovah to help him, while the audience laughed. Wonder if that kid believe in the old Jehovster now? At the first hall I went to as a child, these spankings, beatings, whoopins, etc, did not occur outside because a neighbor would complain to authorities, from my understanding. So it went on in the women's restroom, or in the Second School. The old people would smile and nod while the kid was being hurt and humiliated. You could hear it all quite well. These were the same old people who would smile and nod, of course, if someone's child died from a lack of blood transfusion. Ghouls.
