  Anyone here use a tablet computer

  just curious here who uses the new tablet computers, whether they be android based or ipad ios from apple.

  does anyone here use a phone to post and what is your experience with that?.

  i'm curious as to how much more time there will be before these devices are the main computers for people.

  I have a small android tablet. Since I still go to meetings I found luging a briefcase around tiresome. Since the NWT, Watchtower, Jeremiah Book and Song book arwe on the tablet I only carry the tablet to the hall.

  It's yime for an introduction

  i've been lurking a month or two and letting out a comment here and there.a few weeks ago someone asked if i had formally introduced myself.

  i was born and raised a witness.

  i always found meetings borning and family studies so bad.

  On the Way: Your suggestion of Both is quite valid. I take to position of the Jesus Seminar etc. Having checked the evidence from the sacanty sources I have decided Jesus existed but was merely a wisdom teaher and made a stupid mistake of invafing the temple on passobver and turning tables etc. He was thus executed and Peter, James and probably Mary had dreams of him after. As did Paul in 2 Cor. 12.

  While Paul borrowed from earlier legends I believe he conected them to a 'resserected Jesus' being taught by Peter and James.

  But to each their own.

  several times over the course of a year or so, jws from the kh i attended have been downright chatty during happenstance crossing of paths... .

  wth is up with that?

  i have no grudges against any of them, but it is confusing as all get out to have left the cult as an ardent supporter of my out, open, front page headlining transgender son, becoming vocally and decidely apostate knowing i was dead to them... now after at least a half decade out, to have them chummy-ing up to me in a check-out line.... frankly, i would rather they look the other way, you know, if none of them would ever genuinely want to know how my son is doing.

  They took a "mouse in the corner" tone.

  "Apostates say if we have truth we should see both sides of the picture. No we shouldn't."<<<< Words like this were said. It puts them in a defensive position that is a sign of failing. The elder reading this did not sound convinced. After all there is the Boreans scripture....lol

  The society knows they WILL die. Thus in the time left they will milk the flock for money so the 8 members can retire to a tropical island. (BTW I plan to as well by but my wife owns lands in the Philippine so.. lol)

  that is a question only you can answer.

  there is no right or wrong answers unless you are steeped in black and white thinking.. some choose to stay in for family reasons, some are so heated up over being decieved they can't give them another minute of time or labor.

  meeting are a tedious and tremendous bore once you see the man behind the curtain(wizzard of oz).

  Some of us can't leave. This is ironic. The WTS is shooting themsleves in the foot. Peoplee like me who can't leave can do more damage within. I fail to see their policy in ways.

  I have lead 2 witnesses to the 'truth'... (Science, archeology) but one is still in (her choice) the other faded...

  What I fail to see is that if the WTS has such a hold on people why is it not banned by the US goveernment... w question all should ask...

  Richard Dawkins is a biologist SIMPLE

  He felt that by the 21st century religion would we a personal isssue and not have to argue with science. He was wrong. In fact the Life how did it get here book deliberatly misquoated him! <<< He should have sued

  Since retiring he had opened up to the main issue. Religious control. Like the WT. Except more personal. He has a good point with encouraging children NOT to chose a religion until later lin life when science and reason are used. This I agree with.

  i usually dismiss the "drinking the kool aid" scenarios that are posted from time to time, but the latest wt has another bit of fearmongering.

  the quote from page 20, para 17. elders who are reading this article can draw some useful conclusions from the account we have just considered: (1) the most practical step that we can take to prepare for the coming attack of the assyrian is that of strengthening our faith in god and helping our brothers to do the same.

  (2) when the assyrian attacks, the elders must be absolutely convinced that jehovah will deliver us.

  And I need to ask. Is not (In the USA) religious freedom part of the law? If so then the WT has broken this law many times. I'm in Canada and note that the WT has slightly more hold on American publishers then Canadian (slightly) Why? I think the rights in the USA could topple the WTS in ,minutes

  I've been lurking a month or two and letting out a comment here and there.A few weeks ago someone asked if I had formally introduced myself. I haven't as I have been busy.

  Here I go>>>

  I was born and raised a witness. I always found meetings borning and family studies so bad. It wasn't that I didn't believe it. It was that it was boring and I already had to spend time in meeting and service. The truth was I learned the 'truth' from reading along in the bible story book with the cassette tapes playing. Since the tapes start: "This is a book of true stories..." I belived it.

  Forward 30 years. I had never gootten in serious trouble. Ohthere was masterbation and alcohol... But only Jehovah knew and he never sent the elders to me. LOL. I believed it still. In fact at 30 I was very convinced that the bible was 100% science and when God said let there be light it was the creation of Jesus (The truth and the light) and day two the creation of elements etc.

  One day about 3 years a ago a guy at work who knew I was a witness asked: "Does Cain and Abel come before or after Jesus in the Bible?"

  As funny as the question was I spent the time (as I gave him a ride home) giving him a summery of the bible. Creation,Fall of Man, Flood, Babel, Abraham, Patrarchs, Exodus, Judges, Kings, Exile, Restoration, Jesus, Spread of Chrintianity, Revelation etc...

  Sounds good BUT as I was saying it I realized I didn't know the bible....

  Oh I knew the plot. But not the words. For instance... 1 Chronicles is 1 /3 geneology.

  So I decided to STUDY the bible not as the word of God. But as a book. (Simply to learn the deeper things)

  I gathered a few books (careful not to pick religiously biased books. I wasn't going to read anything from apostate Christodom)

  I finally got the book "How to Read the Bible"- James Kugel.

  It presented the bible (hebrew Bible-Old Testament) as propganda of the ancient Israelites. Such as thought has NEVER come into my mind and at first I laughed. But as I read Mr. Kugel quoted verses showing the bible was not written by Moses (Genesis 12:6, 34:7 14:14, etc)

  This was faith shattering. If this was true them.... creation was a myth (a good one though) and evolution was true!

  I went on youtube that night searching for PROOF OF EVOLUTION. (Fossils did not cut it) I needed genetic proof. And there it was. Retroviruses giving us 100% proof. Then Chromosome #2. (By the way the brochures about creation skip all this)

  I had to struggle for over a month with a terrifying concept. I WOULD DIE and that WOULD BE IT!

  Evento this day it streaks terror into me. However since then I realized that this century has the potential for inventing computers capable of storing the memories of us so its a small relief.

  However after this month I came back with a vengence! I did not like being LIED TOO! That being said it wasn't the bible's fault. The bible I came to have huge respect for as a work of man (his greatest work) and as such decided to figure out how accurate Kugel was.

  Here are some shoking facts the WITCHTOWER is WELL AWARE OF but refuses to disclose:

  1. Acheology DOES NOT prove the bible true!

  Oh sure. There was a David, Jehu was real. Hezekiah was locked like a bid in a cage. Josiah's reforms match up. Baruch the scribe is real. Even Balaam was some sort or oracle. But from there we take a dive into proganda by Judeans.

  2. Science. Nope. Here is a terrible fact.

  Humans can choke on their food. Most mammals cannot. Why? Decended lyrax of humans. Is this the work of a loving GOD? NOT

  3. Jesus according to 90% of historians existed (Bill Maher and others can kisss their a$$) However when we look as how the historical Jesus lived we might be inclined to be a homeless bum.

  That being said 2 years ago I decided to write a book, however YouTube seemed like a fun and safe place to let it off my chest. So I released the entire history of the origin of the texts of the bible on my channel HowTheBibleWasMade in the space of a year. Later i posted several videos about the dangers of the bible for children (not adults) and also many comedies.

  As the project is now it needs revisal but that is next year...

  I have not left Jehovah's Witnesses... My wife is still in and.... what can I do?... Yeah not much... Just wait...

  What would be your reaction if the original ten commandments were found written in hieroglyphic

  according to historians, the hebrew language came at a later date and there is strong evidence to support that the original writtings of moses were destroyed and and was re-writen by ezra.. remember that the account explains that moses became part of the egyption royal family, did he learn the arts of horus and others, the same with aaron, why was aaron quick to make a golden calf?

  why did the people wanted to become like gods, and why when moses found out made them drink the golden calf?.

  1 when the people saw that moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around aaron and said, come, make us gods[a] who will go before us.

  There are 3 sets of the Ten Words.

  Exodus 34

  Deuteronomy 5

  Exodus 20

  Exodus 34 is different then the other tow and Exodus 20 is almost the same as Dt 5. (With one major change)

  Exodus 34 likely dates before the exile. Dt 5 dates likely during the exile (It must be noted that Dt. 12-126 is a law code written during Josiah's time and added to after)

  Exodus 20 either dates during the exile or more likely was written in the time of Jeshua and Zerrubabel right after using Dt 5 as a guide.

  Will they be found. It's possible in the case of Exodus 34.

  Numbers 6 has a priestly blessing that has be found dated to around 600BCE. (Roughly in the time Jeremiah was preaching.)

  My daughter asks about the Bible

  my 9 year old asked me yesterday about the bible.

  some of her friends in school last year spent a lot of time talking about hell and it really scared her.

  i dealt with it with her, so she is reassured and comforted and realizes she doesn't need to worry about going to hell.

  I have done over 60 videos covering why I feel the bible is not for children. (YouTube- HowTheBibleWasMade)

  However the bible SHOULD be read by teenagers as it is a basis for alot of western culture.

  Besides being the world's most distributed literary work it also gives us a cross-slice of ancient Judah and Israel that fillsin the gaps in archeology.

  However the bible is violent, sexually open, discriminating, indictive, and even has BAD moral stories. (Ex. Samson or Judah/Tamar) It is NOT for children. It IS for teenagers and adults.

  BTW as to not having a bible in the home.... Every translation possible can be found online.
