SixofNine:From what I see I can learn much more from Minimus & It’s so simple. If I want to learn about sarcasm, berating someone else for their beliefs, I guess I will go to you. But I have no such desire. We all have a right to express our opinions. But it seems to me that maybe there is some underlying anger, why else respond. Just let it be and go on to another topic that is of interest to you. There are so many. I’m just here to defend the above, thought I really don’t believe that they need it. We may be a newbie to this forum, but don’t be mistaken, I’m not a newbie in my belief in God. You can take it or leave it. That’s your choice. You have posted over 4000 times? but you have yet to learn some manners, and no I’m not mad.

Vicious attacks by JW family
by KGB ini am hoping that by telling my story that i will be able to once and for all time release the stress built up inside of me from brutal attacks i have received from the my jw family.. in 1996 i moved to a town called redding, ca.
i moved there because my mother lived there with her husband.
my youngest half brother whom i loved well passed on from cancer at only 21. i felt that i needed to be closer to my mother so i closed my buisness which was a very profitable buisness and moved to redding.

DJ: I just came to the forum for a short while. It’s my lunch break. There are so many posts as you know, so why I opened this one I don’t know (but maybe I do) Reading your response, I started to weep. There are so many people here who have been hurt by their parents, and on some level we never really get over that. I have become so much stronger in the past year. I believe that it’s because for the first time I have allowed God to take over. My mother will always be a sore spot for me. She’s my mother and even though I know she will never be the mother I needed, I still grieve for her. She just doesn’t get it and that is so sad. She believes in the JW org, their truth, really not mentioning God. She does mention the creator but I wonder. Does she know who the creator is? It’s the Word, the Son. When I realized that last year I couldn’t believe it. As for me I don’t know what I will do regarding my mother. A dear friend suggested to pray beforehand, be civil, short, and not call too much, maybe once a month. I don’t know yet. I’m still thinking of writing her a letter. But as my friend reminded me, when I wrote her last time, quite a few years ago, my mother wrote back. My friend was so upset, she crunched it up. I think of the wonderful support I do have in my life and am so thankful.
KGB: I think a lot of people can relate to your pain. It does feel better to get it out. Sometimes it’s not always that you get good suggestions or advise, ( we do) but sometimes we get a better understanding who we are and what we are going through ourselves and sometimes (surprise) we get our own answers. This forum has been a blessing for me. I can talk to a number of my friends. We have great conversations, but they really don’t understand my frustration with the JW org. I guess I had always hoped that my parents would see the JW org for what it is and then we could all be a happy family. It’s not going to happen. But I do pray for my parents. That’s all I can do. Hopefully your friend will see the org for what it really is. God Bless you too.

Hi DanTheMan: get will get back to this topic tomorrow. I just popped back in for a minute and seeing that you are still here I suggest Beethovens Piano Concerto # 5 second movement. It is such a sweet, gentle melody. I understand about the intensity of his music. I have loved Beethoven since I was a teenager. For me the 9th is the struggle between good and evil, and he triumphs over it. Tchaikovsky's Pathetique- he wallows in his misery and doesn't seem to be able to get out of it. (but that's my feeling) With Beethoven I feel hope. Anguish at times but hope. There is so much joy "Ode to Joy" in it and the togetherness of the singing, I get goose bumps. Goodnight!

It’s such a pretty melody. Does anyone else have music they love that they want to share? I’ll list some of my favourites: Dvorak Symphony #9 (Going Home), Schubert Symphony #9, might as well include Beethovens #9 (strange that that they’re all #9), Brahms Alto Rhapsody just to name a few.

Pork chops baked in the oven with BBQ sauce
Potatoes (boiled)
carrots
cabbage cooked with apples, onions and a little baconMulan: is your background German? I love German food, Italian food, I love food (about as much as I love music) I love breaded pork chops. I'll dip the chops first in seasoned flour, then in egg, then finely crunched up Sour Cream & Chive crackers. I then fry them, carefully. Baby carrots smothered in butter. Fried potatoes (parboiled) or stuffed potatoes. It really is a winter meal though. I am getting so hungry. I've made the red cabbage, but I was the only one that liked it, same with saurkraut. Okay love is a little extreme, but I really, really like the above.

All I had was a cheese omelet. When my daughter isn't home I don't really cook. I had thought of making a Dutch slaatje (salad), with a good piece of bread and a glass of white wine, but maybe tomorrow, and if the sun is shining, out on my balcony. What a life.

Hi DJ
Why do I need to be loved by those who don't love me?
This has been a struggle for me for quite a while. My mother would tell you that she loves me, but I’m not sure she’s really capable. The child inside me wants my mother to love me. At some point I realized that it wasn’t going to happen. She can’t give me what I need. I gravitated to older women, not realizing it at first. I then started to nurture myself. I also feel that doing things for my kids, ie giving them a card about how I feel about them, in some ways nurtures not only them, but me. That’s what I wanted, to be validated, to feel that I was special to them. From your second post I see that you feel better. Glad to hear that. Chin up
Country Woman: I think Bebu’s & LadyLee’s advice was good, and plan to do it. I’m typing two letters and keeping copies for myself, as I know she'll misinterpret it. I think we’re about the same age, no? Tot ziens, doe de groeten an Viv. Heb ik het wel goed gezegt? Please Simon, don’t repremand me for speaking a different language, it wasn’t offensive, just saying goodbye!

Forgot something:
Blueblades: I usually don't quote scripture but for you..... I liked your topic "Have you ever experienced God".
Romans 1: 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and God-head; so that they are without excuse.
I sincerely believe that deep down we all have the knowledge of God.
