What is your weirdest field service experience ?
by cookiemaster inmine just popped in my head and i just had to share it.
a few years ago i went with a special pioneer(and elder) at one of his studies who was a cow herder in the mountains.
obviously, even though we were going to the middle of nowhere, where no one lived, we just had to go all dressed up in nice suits and all.

I can confirm the validity of Blondie's experience, but she left out a few details. When the witch handed the soiled rolled-up watchtower she subtly revealed her identity. Her chilling words haunt me to this day: "This magazine is full of nothing but Roumors and Sweet Little Lies. Take this crap back to your leaders compliments of Rihannon." After the witnesses left the witch prayed to Satan for a new name and promised the devil that if he gave her fame and fortune she would write every song about destroying jehovah's witnesses and praising and honoring Satan. Today we know this witch by the name Stevie Nicks. However, recently she broke her promise to the devil by actually reading a watchtower and accepting a bible study with jw's and the devil punished her by sending her, her latest song, "What's dumber than a song? This song."

Crazy JW urban legend
by Simon ina sure guarantee that this was bogus (really, any reasoning is required at all?
) was that it did the rounds applied to john denver, annie lennox and others.. basically, they relied on satan (oh yes) for their musical ability (i knew it) and any jws in the audience would be asked to leave because ... (drum roll) ... they blocked the signal to satan so couldn't perform with them present!.
anyone else remember that gem?.

Is it a verified fact that john denvers head was cut off in the crash? I remember the footage of the crash and thinking it didnt look like that bad of a crash. Anyway john was one of my all time favorite musicians. I didnt like him as a kid but his beautiful voice and songs just gave me chills as I matured in my musical appreciation.

Fallacies about Faith
by tec inpeace to you!.
this thread is about false things (some) atheists think theists believe.
this is not a thread about false things that atheists think about theists.

I love how smug and matter of fact the tone of tec's post is. And how kind and gentle and yet how firmly, like a parent to a child he sets all those dumb and ignorant atheists straight. This post. Actually makes me hate all theists. I am a theist but barely so and this post makes me ashamed to claim that label. Yet most atheists I have to say are just smarter in general than theists.I even think atheists are morally better than theists since they have better reasons for not raping little girls than god told me not to and or else I go to hell.so tec, thanks for being so supersmart as to make me want to trash what little faith I have. I hate that Imight actually get put in any of the same categories as you in some census. If you loved blue iI would hate blue, that is how ignorant I think you are.

I really hate that this post is still up top when I clicked on active topics just now. What bugs me is how random it is. Hey did you ever want to take up gladiator reinactments? Did you ever want to take a popcicle stick, break it in two and shove the splintery end up your anus? Did you ever want to take the top to a plastic jug of milk, fill it with a teaspoon of salt water, take it over to the sink and dump it out and then put it back on the jug of milk without washing the small residue of salt that remains on it? Did you ever want to move to johnson city, Tennessee and join the Lyons club business association? I don't know, im not really coming up with anything to compare it with that is witty, funny . And just as random. But the answer to all of these questions, but to the mormon question infinitely more intensely and forcefully is screaming, Why in the hell would I want to even think for one second about becoming a mormon???

Going Back for the Right Reasons
by startingover13 ini'm new to this site, but i have been following the topics for some time.
initially, it was during a deep search into the history of jehovah's witnesses, and yes, "apostate" sites.
i was born into the organization in 1989. my father was always more inclined to the organization than my mother, and soon after she was df'ed.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing. You are truly lucky your earthly father stood his ground and remained in your corner even after you were dfd. So I hope you continue to share your story as it unfolds. Its a bit of a cliff hanger so far. "What does he mean by "go back?" Is he going to go through the process of reinstatement into the watchtower organization? What does he mean by christian and his household serving jehovah? Will he raise his kids to be jws and just be sort of the rebel family in the hall that just have an expansive bible conscience or will he attend some other church or will he be a lone christian with no church affiliation?" Fill us in brother, and god bless you.

4that was really hilarious! I was reading along just trying to figure out what this was going to be the joke creeped up on me and before I knew it I was agreeing that solomon was wise to leave jehovah. Could you imagine if a, say teenager got ahold of that not suspecting it was from an apostate. They would just start getting foggy and depressed not knowing why. Docs would have them on anti depressants. Then one day they would just snap and leave the organization never knowing why. I love that slow delivery humour. So hilarious.

GODS NAME?
by ADJUSTMENTS inin my culture using the first name or even last name ( we use mom, dad, sir,ma'am,grandma, grandpa, auntie, uncle) of my parents or an older and respected person in my family or circle of friends it is considered downright disrespectful!!!
even when it comes to a person who is a doctor in secluar society, out of respect you would say dr. last name, not using the first name.
not sure of how your culture does things, but if its a friend or an aquatintence of the same age we typicaly can use their first name.
