I heartily agree with jgnat.
But I think you might do well to rewrite this and get it as organized as you can. Sometimes in organizing something, you see possibillities for the next step more clearly. It seems that your biggest hope is for Sally to get support that she might need (being believed, for example), and for Steven to be confronted (and put on a registry).
Maybe I passed over it, but is there something that prevents you from discussing this with situation with Sally? Do you know what the statute of limitations is for your state?
I do not think you should send this letter to Steven's parents, though! That will surely not help your goals.

Thanks to EVERYONE who has responded privately. AND those who have posted here, which also encourages others to respond.
...Now, if only one of us had connections in Grand Rapids area... I used to live there a LONG time ago, so I am disconnected from folks I knew. A person who can volunteer some time to babysit a few nights or clean house would be ideal. Anyone know of such a person...? (Any apostates out there in GR?)
The Angel Food Ministry director I spoke with (Jo) is an angel herself!! The Angel Food program is run by local churches which distribute food monthly to families after they retrieve supplies from a distribution warehouse. Generally you have to sign up a few weeks in advance for the food, but the church found a way around that for FHN. And they also decided they would waive the $25 fee for her. The church distributes to more than 400 families each month; I was impressed that they really cared about individual needs and could adjust for FHN. (And I didn't ask them to do that, either.)

Juni, you need to sign up to have a paypal account. And you have to connect a debit card or credit card to the account; I think you can also connect a bank account to the paypal account from which funds will be taken. If I recall correctly, using a bank account will not result in FHN having to pay fees for receiving the money.
After the account is all set up, you need to get the person's email address to whom you are sending money. People use paypal most often for paying for items bought on ebay, but it can be used to pay anyone who has an email address. It's convenient, but some people dislike it for various reasons (none that would be relevent in this situation, though).
GGBG, you're right about every little bit.
I also try to frame difficulties as investments. FHN needs a hand up for a short bit. She's a good investment. We can't afford to lose a smart cookie like her from the board.

FlyingHighNow needs some short-term help financially. One good thing is that I've been able to find a wonderful agency (angelfoodministries.com) which will give her a month's supply of food each month practically free! But in trying to take care of a lot of paperwork/details/dr appointments she is in real danger of losing her job if she misses work. I don't know all the ins and outs of that, but she's doing her best to keep it and stay sane. She needs to stay sane to keep the kids and keep her job. Catch-22!!
She has a Paypal account and you can send her something to pay for a babysitter (since Andy is no longer able to watch the kids) or gas or dr. copays or gas or pull-ups or gas.
I hope you won't mind if I put this thread BTTT every so often.

i tried to shorten it as much as possible.. my family belonged to a baptist church and i was baptized in that church when i was 8 years old.
i sincerely believed in jesus and the bible then and still do now.
