  Hi CC,

  You have such a lovely way with words. Such a gift! I think it is hard for most of us to match your elegant style in stories, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is the reason for few responses.

  I did not see my grandparentss very often. I do recall being given gifts at Christmas by my maternal grandfather, however, when I was very young. I was so surprised and pleased! It was a tea set.

  I wonder how you are doing these days. I am hoping you have found employment (last I recall, you were in a difficult situation).

  Child Predator Caught by my Son

  friday night my oldest son spent the night at one of his friends house.

  his friend and wife went to bed and james, my son, stayed up and played video games with their two children, son 11, daughter 9. the son and james went to bed.

  the little girl continued to play and fell asleep on the sofa.. james got up a little after midnight to get a drink of water.

  Lipo-diesel: Surgeon busted!

  surgeon busted for using human fat to fuel cars(agencies).

  updated: 2008-12-29 12:03los angeles -- a former beverly hills plastic surgeon is in trouble with the law because he fueled his car with human fat sucked from his patients.. craig alan bittner apparently created "lipo-diesel" from his patient's fat and used it to fuel his ford suv and his girlfriend's lincoln navigator.. california public health officials say that it is illegal because state law forbids the use of human medical waste to power vehicles.. bittner said he was trying to be environmentally friendly by using the "lipo-diesel.".

  "the vast majority of my patients request that i use their fat for fuel -- and i have more fat than i can use," bittner wrote on lipodiesel.com, which is no longer online.

  I wonder how the CA government ever suspected that people would be tempted to use human medical waste for powering vehicles. I mean, the law was already on the books before this occurred!

  Christmas is gone....it always makes me so sad. :*(

  this year because thanksgiving was so very late in november, people didnt have as much time to put up and keep up their lights as they usually do.

  i know its only a week's difference...but it made a difference.

  before we knew it it was christmas already and now the music has stopped and the lights are coming down...and the thing i hate to see the most.... christmas trees discarded and left at the curb for the garbage man.

  This year there wasn't an overload of Christmas carols where I live. In fact, it seemed like we could have used a few more. But maybe that's because I wasn't spending tons of time in the malls.

  When my extended family got together to celebrate Christmas on Dec 27, we sang carols for about 40 minutes and had great fun doing it, with instruments and harmonies. It was satisfying enough to hold over till next year. I think I would be feeling blue to go thru the season without that.

  That must have just knocked you over! When my daughter was nearly five, she finally began to talk. She isn't autistic, but she is adorable--just like your son!!

  That will be a memory to cherish. Write it down somewhere special.

  RIP Dansk (aka Ian), 18.12.1953- 20.12.2008

  have posted this on the other thread but just making this one as well:

  i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.

  he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

  I admired Ian for his desire to live honestly, and for encouraging others to do the same. He was a wonderful mix of compassion, courage, humility, and optimism.
