Strange thread.
I thought I would see something about the facial expression of justice Mc Clellan or Angus Stewart.
I personally thought Jackson was showing some empathy with regard to BCG. I don't know if it was his true feelings though.
the comments and facial expressions of judge peter mcclellan, the chair of the royal commission and angus stewart, though subdued, clearly showed their disbelief and disgust at the lack of compassion and empathy by the org and the elders and gb jackson when questioned.. this link, is a sobering look at the emotions people should feel at the abuse of their children.

so when my mom died in 2007 the main thing that kept me from losing it was that i knew i would see her again in the earthly paradise that i read and sang about in the jw publications.
i honestly fully believed in it.
we were best friends and it was devastaing to lose her.
How nice that she was your best friend.
Nobody knows for sure what happens after death. So maybe we will, maybe not, see our loved ones.
Looking at near-death experiences gave me some hope.
i've been fading for about 9 months.
the elders know exactly why.
i received a phone call a couple of days ago.
Very well done. You are courageous.
Now I see 2 possibilities. They might want to set up a judicial conmittee for apostasy. But if you didn't speak to anybody else (who they find out) about that, it would be difficult for them to do so.
Or they tell you that you have to keep your mouth shut so they will leave you. They'll warn you that if you speak to others about it, they would form a judicial committee (that's what they did in my case).
Good luck.
not that we have not done it before, but the event would come about out a mutual understanding.
never a word or any more than just "we are going out to dinner".
the news this time is that my wife, out of her own initiative, suggested this morning that we should go out and celebrate our daughters b-day.
Wow... wonderful.
I read some of your older threads. It really seems that your wife is awaking. Just take it slowly in her pace. Your wife seems to be a lovely person.
And congratulations. Make it a joyful event for your daughter.
the past week has been hell for me.
my mother started feeling ill and we went to seek medical assistance.
we live in the mountains and the nearest large hospital is about 150 kms away.
I am glad that your mum survived and I wish her a good recovery.
When she feels better, maybe you can show her by scriptures, that the Israelites were allowed to eat flesh of an animal with blood that died on the field (Lev 17:15).
Lev. 17:11, 12 shows why it was forbidden to eat blood. Because it had sacrificial value in Jehovah's eyes (because of the death of the animal). Now you could ask her: "Does the blood that you received (of kind people who didn't die) have any sacrificial value for god?"
Probably the elders will ask her if she repents her taking blood. If she doesn't she would be viewed as "disassociated by action."
To you a lot of strength too.
so my parents had a meeting with me to talk about me not progressing spiritualy as i should be.
i felt like i was being interrogated in a nice way.
they want to know who i talk to and if my association at work good.
Dear anonymous17
I can empathize with your situation. It is not easy at all.
You seem to be a very loving and kind person. And you know that your parents react like this because they want you to be saved. They are indoctrinated in this belief.
My mother is acting similarly, even though i am older than you (35). She writes me letters, that she is sad because I distanced myself from "jehovahs organisation." I let her know in a always very loving way, how I appreciate her and also her concern. I tell her the reasons why i left the organisation, but that my relationship to god is much stronger now. I tell her she don't need to be sad, because my personal hope and fate rests wirh god, no human or human organisation can decide or judge me. I tell her the things i believe in (unconditional ove respect, pacifism, human rights). I tell her that i will always be there for her and love her.
I tell you, just act according to your conscience. If you feel that your conscience can't support some watchtower teachings then decide for yourself that you can't follow those. Research about it. To decide what you believe or not is a long journey, sonetimes a lifelong quest. You might change your views and beliefs several times, thats nothing bad. And you will never get all the answers.
Maybe let your parents know that you want to follow your conscience. Tell them that you love them AND THAT YOU RESPECT THEIR VIEWS, BUT THAT YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO ALSO RESPECT YOUR FREEDOM TO DECIDE ABOUT RELIGIOUS MATTERS ACCORDING TO YOUR CONSCIENCE.
Don't follow them for hours just being like a robot. This wouldnt be good for you.
Anyway i wish you all the best
last week, i had requested the elders to put their shepherding concerns in writing and that only one elder visits me because i am uncomfortable with two.
well, today they approached me and said we are not able to write to you and we are going to see you the two of us.
i felt how inconsiderate and disrespectful of individuals the watchtower machinery is.
You did very well. I can tell you from my experience, you can't teach the elders anything.
As you did in the beginning, you said they can only visit you if they write their points and only with one elder. They blatantly disregarded your wishes.
If I were you, I'd tell them if they want to meet again.
"Thank you elder xx for your concern. My personal faith and relationship to Jehovah and Jesus are very dear to me and PERSONAL, which I won't discuss with you. I will let you know if I feel the need to talk to you about it."
in today's wt study it makes the point that just glancing at the opposite sex is flirting and can lead to sex!.
so are jw's now to wear blinkers?.
also jw's are told to go and confess to the elders if they have any immoral thoughts?!!.
please enlighten me as to where and when...
In my whole life growing up as a jw, I never ever heard or read an apology of any sort of this org.
since coming out of the witnesses, i have gone through a transformation in thought and in mind.
i started with the usual: i thought that jesus was god.
then i investigated more about the bible and thought that the bible was not true, given the many contradictions, failed prophecies, etc.. then i investigated evolution and read lots and now i accept evolution and natural selection as things that are true.. now, i need to make my dad rethink everything.
If there is a god or not we do not know.
But we know that mankind is far older than 6000 years.
