  i had heard that the dub's were trying to get people to go to israel and then you never hear anything after that.

  Why is it for JWs and for all the other religious fundamentalists so difficult to understand that one who leaves a religion is not a lesser person?

  so, if lying or being deliberately misleading is a "disfellowshipping" offence, why haven't the brothers who lied to the australian royal commission been brought before a judicial committee?

  Just imagine that Jackson, Spinks etc are sitting in their Judicial Committees for lying or "bearing false witness" in their Royal Commission testimonies.

  i've decided to go full public with a new username on this forum.

  it's been almost a decade since i've been out and i don't care at this point who knows.

  that being said, here's a letter that i'm mailing to bethel.

  You wrote very well.

  I doubt that you will ever get an answer.

  I sent them letters too. I got an answer to a letter I wrote about proof that human life is older than 6000 years.

  They brought up young earth creationists reasoning and that we have to trust the bible. Basically they said that the global flood changed everything and that all dating methods are not reliable for dates older than 4300 years.

  I also mentioned ice core data and dendrochronology.

  They didn't even try to refute these.

  i am really struggling with this particular situation in my life, and i really need your help to readjust my thinking.

  i am recently divorced from my ex-jw husband.

  we were both disfellowshipped at around the same time about 2-3years ago.

  I also recently got divorced.

  The only advice I can give you. Don't concentrate on these matters that he does in his personal life now. As you are separated or divorced concentrate on YOUR life and things that make YOU AND YOUR GIRLS happy. Don't feel miserable about the things he does in his life, because this is not your life anymore.

  Maybe with time passing you can at least be friendly to each other.

  I would say be happy that he could leave the jw thinking and that he can enjoy his life outside of the watchtower. This way your girls can also benefit as they can spend time with a happy dad and that they will not be indoctrinated when they are with him.

  Why didn't he act like that when he was with you?

  Maybe because like you he was also a Watchtower victim.

  But the most important advice I can give you. In front of your girls speak positive about their father and strengthen their bond with him.

  do any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?

  even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.

  the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

  You can believe in God AND think that evolution is true, that homosexuality is allright, that the acts described in the bible are just cruel stories invented by power hungry humans.

  i took the most recent video on "obey" and edited it down to its core.

  here tony explains that the decisions of the faithful slave are arrived at "collectively" but are not a "collection" of man made decisions.

  Excellent video.

  Note that just last month Governing Body member Geoffrey Jackson said to the Royal Commission in Australia that it would be presumptious to say we are the only mouthpiece God is using.

  Now I understand it better. He didn't mean they are NOT God's mouthpiece. He meant there are others too? Who are they? The pope?

  At least the pope says beneficial things like banning nuclear weapons or to care for refugees or to take care to nature.
