  Now finally Caleb & Sofia Anti-Gay Video going viral in Germany too

  today spiegel online & bento have an article about the anti-gay video.. spiegel is one of the biggest and most serious news media in germany.. they also report and show that youtubers cut the video and changed it in a funny way.

  sofia tells her mother that the teacher said it's fine if they live each other.

  then sofia's mother says: "thats wonderful.".

  Today Spiegel Online & Bento have an article about the Anti-Gay video.

  Spiegel is one of the biggest and most serious news media in Germany.

  They also report and show that Youtubers cut the video and changed it in a funny way. Sofia tells her mother that the teacher said it's fine if they love each other. Then Sofia's mother says: "Thats wonderful."

  Raising kids in a split faith household

  hi guys, don't know if this is the right place to ask but id like to hear other peoples experiences with raising kids in a household with split faiths.

  just for a bit of a back story, my wife and i have been married for comming up 6 years.

  we have 3 kids, 2 boys aged 5 and 3 and a 8 week old girl.

  I can recommend you to read the book "Raising Freethinkers - A practical guide for parenting beyond belief."

  It has a lot of good ideas how to strengthen the children's critical thinking skills.

  I think you can only succeed if you with a lot of love teach them how to think critically for themselves. Don't talk negatively about the faith of your wife as it will be counterproductive.

  Show them that it is normal that people have different feelings about religion or believe different things. The importance is not in what you believe but how you act.

  They will see that you have a different belief than your mum. They will ask questions. Tell them how you feel about this or that bit never in a downgrading way.

  I am father of a 3.5 year old boy who is heavily indoctrinated by his jw mum. Lately he said "in a church are bad people."

  I try my best in counteracting this indoctrination and teach him critical thinking but also tolerance and respect for different views.

  I will make it clear for him, that he can change his religion a thousand times in his life; I will always love him and be there for him.

  I wish you all the best. It is not easy.

  Great letter, very logical and respectful.

  I also sent a similar letter once. They answered, if there is a contradiction between science and the bible, they would believe the bible.

  Why are there many flood myths globally?

  At the end of the ice ages (around 10000 - 8000 years ago) the sea level rose dramatically. There were many local floods worldwide, as the ice melt and the sea level rose more than 100 metres.

  Very interesting is the work of scientists Pitman and Ryan, who proved, that about 8000 years ago the Bosporus broke and the mediterranian flooded into the black sea. This might have been the root of the middle eastern flood stories.

  my eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".

  since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.

  goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.

  I loved your posts and threads from Holland. I myself am half dutch and half swiss, so I love the Netherlands too and am sometimes there too.

  I wish you and your family all the best. Still would be great to read from time to time something from you.

  The catholic church might excommunicate a person. But it doesn't mean, that no catholic is allowed to speak or have private contact with the excommunicated one. The person is just no catholic anymore.

  that newspaper also covered the controversy about the "meeting" cartoon, where the message is made that if jw children don't listen at the meetings they might get killed finally.. then i realized that it is not available in german.. it is available in so many other languages, like guarani (never heard of that language), but german is missing.. are they afraid to offer it in german?

  do they expect too much controversy in germany?.

  Wannaexit: In the Video you can choose the language. Many exotic languages are possible, German isn't. And it is not available in the german jw website.

  I wonder if they don't offer german because of legal reasons.

  They probably see already the mistake they made, translating it into dutch.

  THEN I REALIZED THAT IT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

  It is available in so many other languages, like Guarani (never heard of that language), but German is missing.

  Are they afraid to offer it in German? Do they expect too much controversy in Germany?
