Need some help: Existential crisis in full swing

so is anyone else having an existential crisis after becoming fully awake?

let me explain.

about 2 years ago i read coc, still believed and tried to get back in da troof.

First of all congratulations that you managed your exit of this cult.

You are free now, free to embrace life and live a life with all its joys, pleasures, problems, doubts according to your conscience and without a set of manmade religious rules.

Now concerning spirituality or belief in god:

You don't need to jump to quick answers or solutions. And if you don't know something (if god exists or not) you might leave it open for the moment. It is also good not to know everything and leave it open and meanwhile use your energy for a good cause.

After leaving the JWs I lost my belief in organised religion, the bible and the god of the bible.

I can understand when someone sees himself as an atheist or agnostic.

However I still believe there is a higher force who is behind the natural laws of this universe (or many more) and I tend to believe this force or god is personal too.

Why do I believe that? My view of the world, life, love and a looking at near death experiences bring me to this conclusion.

I wish you all the best in your life.

They show a shunning video at the RC and they have a shunning talk where they highlight that they should shun also 'faded' ones who transgress against their rules.

with all of the bat-shit crazy propaganda of late, i'm considering talking to my wife about the cult.

we have had zero religious discussions for two years.

the last discussion ended with ,"you have no beliefs, no personal beliefs, because you change your "beliefs" when the wtbts writes an article.

Very good idea, that you'll text your daughter that you 'll never shun her. Tell her too, that you'll always be there for her, if she needs to talk, and won't let her go unanswered.

Maybe you can tell your wife the same. That you will always be there for your daughter, and that you find that video really shocking and that it offended and hurt you deeply. Mention that you would also never shun her (your wife).

our families were our last tie to the organization, as our former friends stopped associating with us about 3 years ago.

One good thing.

I discovered the music of "audiomachine."

I just loved the song. "Eternal flame" from the album "epica" of audiomachine.

They produced music for movie trailers and movies like Harry Potter, The Hobbit, the Hunger Games and many more.

Hmmmm Harry Potter ;-) isn't that the young wizard those "Muggle" Jehovahs Witnesses were advised not to watch.

I guess now all the JWs will think the organisation composed this great song.

I wanna see their faces when they see the picture of the album "epica."

It's a propaganda video for this ideology of a paradise earth.

We all want to enjoy life without pollution in a beautiful countryside, with peace and together with the people we love.

We all have lost loved ones who died. Especially the death of a child is something terribly sad.

Now you see this all portrayed with the climax of the resurrected boy hugging his father.

This video is professionally made and could be a trailer for a hollywood movie. The film music is quite good and all together very emotional.

And that's the dangerous thing.

They know exactly how to influence the emotions of the viewers. And they do it professionally.

Be loyal to us, and you'll be like the people in the video.

Help - I'm going to be conducting the watchtower study

it looks like i'm going to have to take the watchtower study for a while so i thought i'd seek help.. i wont be outing myself or stating anything too controversial, but so far i have come up with the following tactics : 1) ask questions which will get people thinking even if it is about something insignificant - developing a questioning mind is the key to discovering ttat as far as i am concerned.

2) highlight any extreme points so that some might realise they are extreme.

3) highlight any good points - helping others in need for example - just because it is the right thing to do.. if anyone has any general comments which could help, please post them here.

Be persistent. If they want an answer you can tell them that it is because of personal reasons.

Just breathtaking, that the mother ignores the call of her sad and lonely daughter, and that they portray it like that.

I guess a lot of JWs will think that these parents are not loving. If some of them continue the thought, that in fact it is the org who is teaching this, they might wake up.

I'm getting disfellowshipped

hi everyone, a bit of an update here on my continuing disaster of a situation.. (refer to my previous posts for the full story) my mom met with me yesterday for dinner, it was nice.. however, she brought up the fact that because i live with my boyfriend and how everything has gone down, i will be disfellowshipped.. i think the elders basically have enough proof of this.. due to the anonymous tipper (still have no clue who it was, i live in another town 100's of miles away from my old congregation territory), and my mom telling them.

i'm not sure when they will announce it, or if they will contact me prior.. at this point i feel so emotionally dead i don't care- on the other hand, i don't want to be disfellowshipped because i do not want to loose a relationship with my mom.

that is the whole reason i tried fading out.. .

I was df'd last year.

I have the same loving relationship to my parents as before. They will never shun me and I eat with them every week. I just don't discuss much about religious topics with them.

Although I did many things not to get df'd, getting disfellowshipped was good for my life.

Now I am completely free, free to live a good and morally fine life.

I lost all my JW friends, but I am slowly making new friends who won't just throw me away.

I feel for you and wish you all the best. Focus on the good things in your life. Be especially loving and respectful to your mum, so she also should accept and respect your life decisions.

If she intends to shun you, you could ask her if she would shun her grandchild if you would get pregnant.
