researching online, i found that approximately 1% of the world's population is 90 years of age or older.
this means that, come 2015, there will still be around 70 million people who fit the bill of "now living" in 1925 and still living.

Hi there!
Thanks for everyone's comments.
I just had a moment of "wait... what if?" But thanks to you all who squashed my doubt. Definitely "millions now living will never die"... no matter how you slice or dice it... is now an utterly, 100% unfulfilled prophecy/prediction. There is no way that, even if "big A" would come right now, that this could be turned true. JW apologists have absolutely no exit out of this one.
For 1914 "THIS generation" to be in the same category as the 1925 one, we will assume two things:
1. Let's take the 1904 birth date, you had to be 10 to be included in the 1914 generation. This means you are at least 109 years old.
2. All of them have to die. Let's see the possibilities (theoretical! Just a musing)... that this prophecy/prediction could still be true.
There are 60 people confirmed around the world that are over 110. It is estimated that from 300-450 people in the world are actually over 110. Only 1 person since 1871 (the list in the Wikipedia article I get my data from) has lived to be over 120. Jeanne Calment lived to 122 years. In this time (from 1871 to 2013), there have been approximately 16 billion people born.
http://www.prb.org/Publications/Articles/2011/HowManyPeopleHaveEverLivedonEarth.aspx
Confirmed people who have lived:
To 120+ - 1 person
To 117+ - 4 persons
To 116+ - 9 persons
To 115+ - ?? more than 30
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercentenarian
So we have the following chances that someone born in 1904 is still alive by 2014 to be, maximum 1 in 36 million, by 2019 1 in 320 million, to 2024 1 in 8 billion.
The octopope should buy the lottery or change the doctrine (oh, right, they already did!!)... They have better chances with the lottery!!

this is the kind of thing that really burns me.. .
wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.
most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).
Hi Tech49, I am soooooooo grateful to my parents that they had this ONE THING which was unchangeable, and that was going for higher education was a MUST. Not that I did not want to, but my mother and I had to struggle with the guilty feelings of going to University. As an aside, where I live I remember brothers asked me once to write a statement agreeing for the Watchtower to be a student group so that they could put in a table and do preaching there. They were having a hard time finding TEN people in a HUGE University!! This shocked me quite a bit... I find that the anti-university stance is just in North America/Europe/1st world countries. In third world countries, the "advice" to not go to university comes in through one ear and out the other for 99% of witnesses. Go to Mexico, Colombia, or any Latin-American country, go up to the elders and ask them what they do for a living, and most, if not a large percentage, will tell you they have a college/university degree of some sort. Do the same in Canada/US and most are window cleaners/plumbers/carpenters/etc... I hate the double standard, and I am so sorry to anyone who stopped going to University because of the pressure. I almost did. I am definitely glad I didn't listen to such utter nonsense. ILTTATT

hahahahaah "never" mind... Theoretically, suppose JW's were true, suppose that as soon as "big A" would come, and theoretically, all those 95+ people survive the "big A" and then live forever... Then in that scenario, JW's would have but a couple of years for them to claim that they were true on that. That was my point... Reality: All those people will die, eventually. JW's are not true. Just thought it was a curiosity to think that there still are millions of people who are 90+, but then 95+ it reduces significantly, and 100+ is very hard to reach. As of today, there are only 7 people born before Jan. 1, 1900. So to reach 113 years, 9 months, your chances are 1 in a billion.

Maybe a timeline could help: 1925 - 2015 = 90 years. People who live to 90 = 1% = 70,000,000 1925 - 2020 = 95 years. People who live to 95 = 1/7% = 10,000,000 1925 - 2025 = 100 years. People who live to 100 = approx 1/600% = 15,000 So technically, playing devil's advocate, "millions now living (in 1925) will never die" could technically be true until sometime between 2020 and 2025.
i guess i have issues.
or am i just soo awesome.
please don't tell me i am becoming danny hazzards twin.
Dude, I thought I was going overboard with TTATT, but I guess there's always someone else who wins!! Like everything in this world, if it becomes an obsession, it is not good for you... take a break, go for a walk. Enjoy your new-found freedom from the WatchTower... you deserve it!! ILTTATT

Playing devil's advocate here... Researching online, I found that approximately 1% of the world's population is 90 years of age or older. This means that, come 2015, there will still be around 70 million people who fit the bill of "now living" in 1925 and still living. That number reduces to 10 million by 2020. By 2025, however, those who reach 100 will only number around 15,000, judging by U.S. numbers (which would be a fair statement because in just 10 years the percentage of centenarians will double worldwide, but I will account for third-world countries so... 15,000 sounds about right). Sources: http://www.gapminder.org/population/tool/ http://www.census.gov/prod/2011pubs/acs-17.pdf http://health.wolterskluwerlb.com/2011/12/u-s-older-population-larger-than-ever-according-to-the-2010-census/ This, however, does not negate the many other false predictions, such as the prediction that the "faithful ones of old" would resurrect in 1925. What are your thoughts on this? ILTTATT
hi dear friends!.
i am doing some stealth reverse-witnessing, and i have succeeded in at least two people seeing ttatt, one being my friend and the other being my dad (although my dad has a longer route to take to exit the wts, and i have to slowly chip away at the illusion).... the illusion of jw's is very strong.
they give an illusion of being moral and decent people, and that may be true just because the majority of the people they attract are just being deceived, or i really like to believe that and hope for the best.. what i hate and leaves me emotionally drained are jw apologists.
Thank you all for your very kind and good words. As always, your posts leave me with lots to think about. I will try and write back as soon as possible.

Narcissistic: 2 people, in three months. It's two lives. However, I agree that I won't save everyone, and that it takes its toll. Maybe I should just try and enjoy my life... maybe I should try to pace my reverse-witnessing. It's becoming an obsession.
On the other hand, practice makes perfect. Just ignoring their rants could help. Most of their arguments are very sneaky.

Watchtower Free: the thing is, I try to comment on something that is relevant. For example, the reading this week is Romans 13-16. I commented, based on jwfacts.com, that the understanding of "superior authorities" changed twice, going from "original" to "different" and back to "original"...
But, whenever I can, I will introduce that question.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Can someone help me answer my question? Was the ban on vaccinations an actual society-wide requirement, or was it just a series of strong statements, similar to the extreme discouragement of higher education?
