COMMENTS YOU WILL NOT HEAR AT THE WT STUDY: Help Them Return Without Delay!
by Mary inhow do you read?
q 7. what can we encourage those who have strayed from the flock to do?.
106:13) it may be helpful to remind an inactive one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food.

good job Mary! A Canadian Summer is too long for the Love Bombing. More like a New York Minute. Same results.

Honestly, Would You Have Secretly Taken a Blood Transfusion?
by minimus inwhile i was an active jw elder, i wouldn't have up until that last year.
that's when i was totally mentally out, just going thru the technicalities.
i still respect other jw's viewpoints on their not accepting blood----although i think they are terribly misguided.

After researching the vagueness of the WT policy on accepting blood fractions, and the vagueness expressed by Witness leadership when asked legitimate questions by medical professionals; yes I would have taken a blood transfusion the last 3 years that I was an elder. I even had a pioneer sister (an RN) asking me how she could explain this policy to medical people she worked with. I had the medical directive (blood card) talk one year and that was all it took.

Your opinion?someone sent me this
by mouthy indispensationalist thinking - right or wrong?
all the fringe religious sects, and even some mainline christian churches, adopt a dispensationalist policy these days.
dispensationalists are people who believe that the gifts of the spirit, such as tongues, healing, prophecy etc all disappeared with the death of the apostles.

Sorry, I got to agree with Elsewhere. The plausibiliy of the Bible is a personal matter of faith and I will give anyone the opportunity to believe or not believe. However, I don't think anyone has the right or authority to proclaim their viewpoint as a truth and not expect their viewpoint to be questioned by others who could easily dispute matters of faith which cannot be proven.

Elder stakeouts! Anyone done one / been a victim of one?
by sir82 insuppose the elders get an anonymous letter or phone call, or even a brave soul tells them that they no "brother so-and-so" is sleeping with "sister suzy q".
or a believing jw has a "non-scriptural" divorce, and wants proof her ex is sleeping with someone else.
the elders' manual says the "strong circumstantial evidence, such as evidence that the accused spent all night in the house of someone of the opposite sex who is not his wife or a family member" (paraphrase) can be used as evidence in a judicial case.. to get such "strong circumstantial eveidnce", elders have been known to "stake out" a house, spending all night in a car watching a house.. in all my time as an elder, i was never involved in one of these.

when I was an elder, I heard of stories about elders staking out the area strip clubs. Or, maybe that was the stories about the elders researching the area strip clubs.

An Average Apostate Day
by Farkel ini cannot understand why dubs are so terrified of apostates.
we all live mostly modest and normal lives, but dubs don't believe that.
so for all you lurking dubbies out there, i am going to tell what i think and do on .

I am playing Blondie records backwards and listening to Satanic messages.
I am also screaming, "it burns, it burns" when I go to the bathroom. does that count?

No. Whether they were born into the religion or joined by choice; they all observe the reality of the cult. It is their choice to put up with that reality. Sorry.
