hi... i am new and after nearly 20 years after being disassociated at 15 i would like to make contact with others who have similar difficulties.
my mother was disfellowshipped shortly after my rebellion and had all ties with both her mother and brother cut and that remains the case.. just really hacked off with not being able to put things in the proper place in my life after all these years.
for the record i don't know if i believe in god but am searching for some peace as i seem to self destruct on a regular basis.. any ideas anyone?.
Welcome! You will find alot of support here while you sort out things in your life. There are many here with different belief systems, as well as those of us that are still trying figure it out.
Stick around, take your time, search topics, ask questions.
long time lurker here.
i'm a fifth gen born-in baptized jw.
to say i've been struggling with doubts is an understatement.
Welcome Heartsafire!
I am another one with an active spouse. I'm still active, for now. Just trying to hang in here for appearances, while I help my kids see the real truth of this religion and hopefully in the process my husband will open his eyes.
There's a lot of great support here. Keep posting!
i have published a new article at watchtower corporal punishment, as a response to the testimony that geoff jackson gave at the royal commission.
it includes the relevant part of the transcript, along with a string of watchtower quotes to show that what he presented was not accurate, and that watchtower translates rod as a literal implement to hit children with.
.
been reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.
i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.
i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.
none of my jehovah's witness relatives called to tell me or my family.
just found out this morning.
i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.
just a total speculative thought i had.
with branches getting cut, special pioneers getting sacked, and bethel members going byebye, is there a need for gilead still?
(co's are probably on the block too lests be honest).. if they got rid of that i feel that would be huge.
information just received from a reliable source.. here is an example of how the org's "expansion" is being carried out in 3 continents: .
japan - special pioneers under age 50 are being told they will now only be regular pioneers.barcelona spain - the regional translation (catalan) office is being closed.mexico - special pioneers being told they will only be regular pioneers - no age specified on this one.. the scene of the org's world is changing - rapidly!.
Yes, we have a couple in our congregation that were/are special pioneers. They've been with us for about 5 years. They get an allotment.
I wonder how this will eventually affect those that are already in the "field" getting an allotment?
I almost forgot they were "special pioneers". i'm not even sure if they still officially hold the title.
Things are changing so quickly, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
