Do You Ever Say Prayers At Mealtime Anymore?
by minimus ini notice that i seldom do.
what about you?
-
SpunkyChick
Interesting thread Minimus. When I was a JW I'd say the same things in my prayers. It's kind of embaressing to admidt, but it hasn't been until this past week I've stopped praying for God's forgivness of my sins. I don't pray before meals. The only time I find myself praying is at bedtime and I'm currently questioning if God even hears my prayers.

Has anyone ever been surprised you were a dub?
by obiwan init's kinda funny i've had quite a few people that were amazed that i used to be a jw, some have even thought i was b/s them.
i guess after so many years i cover it up well.
has anyone else run into the same thing?

What's more annoying - political or religious 'debate'?
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. infrom what i have noticed, is that both subjects, may well start out as logical debate but soon logic goes out the window and the 'debate' evolves into full blown argument.
i realise they are both serious subjects, but really, some people need to lighten up a little with their outlook on life.
life's too short (unless you're a jw.

Hands down RELIGIOUS debates are more irritating! Arguing about a book written thousands of years ago and people's beliefs!! Ack no. It's more fun and interesting to discuss politics because it affects us all. It's also interactive by being able to vote.

by SpunkyChick ini am at the end of my rope with my 2002 vw jetta gls.
i traded in my 1997 vw jetta (which had tons of problems....i'd just figured i'd gotten a bum car and decided to give the new jetta's a try).

Eeeps! Attack of the computer problems...let me try this again...
Thanks to everyone for your responses!
Jim_Tx - My parents also purchased a VW Diesl bug. After they were hit in a minor car accident and saw the great damage done to the flimsy vehicle ($2000 in damage), they decided to get rid of it.
i bought a 2000 Jetta 1.8 t used, i have had a few electrical problems, engine light twice and Air bags light and i have hd to get the bumper reattached twice but other than that i'm pretty happy with it, its my first real car
Azalo - Those are quite a few issues your lovely car has... If your warrenty is expired electrical problems are expensive to repair. In my 1997 VW the airbag needed replacing (I was never in an accident). That was $900 to replace! That's a crappy car to need to have your bumper reattached twice! My friends with their Fords and Honda's have never needed their's replaced. I don't know about you, but it's an aggrevation to need to bring your car to the shop for monthly repairs.
Get a life. Shit happens.
Farkel - I do have a life. This lovely chatboard enables me to vent my problems instead of blowing up a KH or shooting someone. You're right, shit happens, and it happened to me in the form of a 2002 Jetta.
Razorblade - Thank you for sharing your interesting story!

Thanks to everyone who responded! Jim_TX - My parents also owned a 2002 VW Diesl bug. They were in an accident (not their fault) and the car body fell apart. The repairs ended up being over $2,000! I am happy your vehicle is working for you. My parents ditched the car soon after when they saw how flimsy they are. >>>>i bought a 2000 Jetta 1.8 t used, i have had a few electrical problems, engine light twice and Air bags light and i have hd to get the bumper reattached twice but other than that i'm pretty happy with it, its my first real car

I am at the end of my rope with my 2002 VW Jetta GLS. I traded in my 1997 VW Jetta (which had tons of problems....I'd just figured I'd gotten a bum car and decided to give the new Jetta's a try). Well since I purchased my 2002 Jetta in October 2001, it's been in the shop for:
1. Air leak in drivers side window – taken to dealership twice. At higher speeds vehicle still sounds like a convertible.
2. CD Player wouldn’t eject CD’s – CD player replaced
3. Engine light indicator on – 3 trips to dealership
4. Engine coils needed replacing – vehicle was shaking and smoking
5. Re-called for ABS problems
6. Arm rest is broken
7. Flimsy body of vehicle – bumper and stone guard coming off
, the stone deflector in the front of my vehicle became detached (I admit I pulled in too far and bumped the concrete parking block). My friends who were with me were shocked that the minor bump would cause the damn bumper to come off! I took the vehicle to three places to get repair estimates. One of the places was the VW body shop . They stated I needed a whole new bumper and weren’t certain they could match the color of the new bumper to the rest of my vehicle! And this is a new car!! The estimated cost of the repair $1,079.50!!
I had my vehicle repaired at an independent shop for $178.76! They reattached the stone guard. The bumper did not need replacing. Nice to know VW was looking out for the loyal customer.
I have looked into Colorado's Lemon Law and am waiting to hear back from the lawyer. I've written VW and been calling them regularly on their customer service hotline. I want to warn everyone out there not to make the same mistake I did with this incompetent vehicle. I have 2 other friends who purchased VW's the same time I did...and we've all had problems with them.
I've heard Honda's are reliable cars...what do you all suggest for a reliable car?
