Uncle bruce and Kid A – and Aguest (you are not acting like any guest I would welcome into my home!)
I am going to respond to this because I know JamesThomas will not say anything derogatory to you. Apparently you have not read very many of JamesThomas previous post; you are attacking a man that either 1) you care nothing about knowing 2) your biased, arrogant, condescending attitude simply shows your incapability of understanding anything beyond “your little box”.
I would shovel horse sh*it with him any day of the week before I would spend one minute with the attitude of yours.
Apparently you don’t know what shoveling horse sh*it can do for you. It can calm a distraught mind. It can enhance the sounds of the earth. It can teach you patience, understanding and a deeper appreciation of love of the world. You can glance up and see a mother and her foal looking at each other and smile a simple smile that has more meaning than anyone would be capable of understanding because it could never be explained. You learn to appreciate the little things.
Maybe you three are simply to young to understand that regardless of your actual age.
To me, JamesThomas is the only one on this board that always sees the good in everyone and the one that says something “nice” about everyone or he simply doesn’t say anything at all.
We could all take a lesson in the attitude of JamesThomas.

My niece called me last week, as she does every year at this time, to remind me of my sister’s anniversary. This is the only time she ever calls me, I am a black sheep and she is a pioneer. None of them (except possibly her dad – will call me an apostate – “cause I’ll come back one day”)
Anyway, she said that she had been going to either Baytown or Beaumont to help with the rebuilding of over 800 homes that were damaged/destroyed during Katrina. I can’t remember exactly how long she had been going down there but I seem to recall she said that she had been going down for several months. I was in temporary shock of the word volunteer and helping victims that for a minute i didn't hear what she was saying. She also made the comment that at least she doesn’t have to go in field service so much because of volunteering to help with the rebuilding.
My questions:
Does anyone else know of the ‘brothers & sisters’ going to the Baytown/Beaumont area to rebuild JW houses?
Does Volunteering’ now count as field service hours?
Is this one of the setups that the WT ‘pays’ for the rebuild and then charges request a donation from their dedicated followers?
The only thing I can ever remember as far as volunteering was for the quick-builts. Helping victims was left up to Jehovah. -

http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Alberta/2006/02/27/1464432-sun.html Mon, February 27, 2006 Dad given OK to sue over death By NADIA MOHARIB, CALGARY SUN A judge's ruling has cleared the way for a wrongful death lawsuit filed on behalf of a teenaged Jehovah's Witness who lost her fight with leukemia. The claim seeking $800,000 in damages was filed by Lawrence Hughes, father of the late Bethany Hughes, in August 2004. Bethany, 17, succumbed to leukemia on Sept. 5, 2002, after a highly publicized fight against blood transfusions which she said violated her religious teachings. The civil suit was stalled after defendants sought to have the courts throw out the claim. Now, however, a ruling by Court of Queen's Bench Justice Patricia Rowbotham on Friday means a scaled-down version of the claim by Hughes, acting as administrator of Bethany's estate, can continue against the Cross Cancer Institute, Alberta Cancer Board, doctors A. Robert Turner and Andrew Belch, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada and Watch Tower lawyers Shane Brady and David Gnam. The judge ruled Hughes could not seek compensation for himself, but can sue on his daughter's behalf. The lawyers would have to be found liable before the Watch Tower Society could potentially be held accountable, said lawyer Vaughn Marshall, who filed the original suit. The statement of claim, as referred to by Rowbotham, alleges the Watch Tower lawyers -- members of the Jehovah's Witness faith who were acting on behalf of Bethany and her mother Arliss -- were in a conflict of interest. The judge also wrote in outlining the claims that because of their own beliefs, they were not in a position to advise either in an objective, fully informed manner that would enable Bethany to make a free, informed decision on whether to choose to have blood transfusions. Bethany's mother is no longer named in the suit. A statement of defence to the unproven allegations has yet to be filed in court. I hope he wins.
