Hi from Chip and Dale from MT; it's snow covered and cold - but we are inside the house and have a nice fire in the fireplace.
We posted on our Introduction to Chip and Dale page yesterday that we moved here the end of Sept.; our son had invited us to move closer as we are dealing with some old age and health related issues , so here we are where there are cold temps but warm hearts! We appreciate the loving care and concern for us very much!
Greetings to all of you and hoping all is well in your corners of the world, Chip and Dale

By golly we all must prepare for disappointments in life - but of course we know we will be growing younger SOON!!! No? But we've been promised and that means new, younger and stronger bodies! Right? Hmmm - that's what the W/W/H is still promising. Chip

Hi to all from cold MT! We moved here the end of Sept. which iis why you haven't heard from us for monthhs. We decided to accept our son's invitation to make the move since our ages and some health issues would be better addressed by being closer to him and his lovely wife Katie and son Christian. It''s been very theraputic for both of us.
Hopefully you are all healthy and happy and ready to welcome a new year right around the corner. Chip and Dale

REPLIES - From “Chip”
1. I noticed a misunderstanding that one blogger, Oubliette, seemed to have. This person assumed that I quit flying when I retired from UAL in 1991; anyone who has read my book is aware of the fact that I continued flying my own planes. My very first (introductory flight) was 11/24/1960 at Cypress Gardens, Florida Airport. I started taking flying lessons on 5/11/1961 in Lake Wales, Florida; my last flight was 7/21/2010, Chicago to Flora, Illinois, when I finally hung up my spurs (49 years and 8 months - nearly 50 years as my book says). The totals for UAL: Over 8,900 hours (4.9 million miles). In small planes: Over 1,815 hours (322,875 miles) all this is shown as logged hours in my “Pilot Master Log.”
I did hire professionals to edit my book and I am aware of the fact that I am not a professional writer. But I was (and still am) a rated airline captain - for better or worse that title will stay with me until I croak - I earned it!.
I am sorry for the misunderstanding and seeming inconsistency. I would be happy to hear your comments after you have read my book (should you choose to do so). As Jesus said, (John 18:23), please bear witness against the wrong; (if I spoke wrongly in my exposé - please bear witness against my wrong - that would be difficult for one to do if one did not read my book before commenting).
Interestingly airline captains in the U.S.A., when I first checked out as one, represented only .006% of the nation’s population (that is only six thousandths of 1 % - I was a professional captain - I am not a professional writer.). Perhaps I should have gotten professional help with my web-site but did not know how it would turn out or if anyone would find it worth looking at. We have had over 18,000 hits on this (amateur) web-site with many thousands of down-loads of “A Brief Glimpse.” Not a perfectly put together website, but unique? I think so.
I mean no offence by these comments, but as Prov. 18:13 points out, “When anyone is replying to a matter before he hears [it], [or reads it, for that matter] that is foolishness on his part and a humiliation.” Please do not with-hold constructive criticism, but hold it until after you have read my book.
If you check out the Comments page five, of my web-site you will see some interesting comments by ones who have read it.
2. Regarding “Painted ToeNail”’s comments about my being, “this odious man 30 years ago” - That is a true statement; I was a harsh disciplinarian of my children especially in their younger years. Most parents who are raising teen-agers (especially true from 30 years ago), were overly cautious in the restrictions that they placed on their daughters (boys don’t get pregnant) I was in that boat. I was overly strict and I have taken responsibility for my wrongs and apologized specifically for my wrongs (Chapter 5 of my book is painfully honest); I have left no skeletons in my closet. My book is all about taking responsibility for one’s actions; I include myself in that matter. Anyone who knew me from 30 years ago will be shocked that I’ve told on myself. I am not proud of my wrong-doing - just honest. I wish, as I am sure many of you do, that the Watchtower/Witness/Hierarchy (W/W/H) would have also been honest and taken responsibility for its manifold wrongs over the past 140+ years - it has never done so and likely never will!
3. As you will find if you read the page: An Introduction to “Chip and Dale,” I stated that if I have harmed anyone from the past, or hurt their feelings, I will gladly apologize to them personally and specifically - in person if possible - if they disclose to me how to reach them (they don’t have to give their real name). My business email: [email protected] . Please let me hear from you, if you wish. I used my real name in my book as well as on this blog - you all know, by now, that “Chip and Dale” are really “Jim and Dale Staelens.” Being in my 70’s now, I know I don’t have a lot of time left; I prefer to address and apologize for any wrongs, I am guilty of, before it is too late for me to do so - THANKS!

Greetings from both Chip and me (Dale). Wow – what a wonderful welcome!!! Thank all of you so much. I also thank “ABibleStudent” for the rose (my very favorite flower; I have seven bushes of red knock outs). We hope to answer everyone ’s questions as much as possible; we are just like you in being free to have uninhibited discussions and are so glad to be part of a loving new “family” where we can do so! An Introduction to “Chip and Dale” -
Hi everyone,
We are new here and hope to get to know all of you now that we have found this site. We all have some things we share in common, but our stories are all unique in various ways and we look forward to hearing yours and sharing ours-in time. Out of consideration for my wife’s need to go forward at a slower pace in revealing her feelings and emotional traumas, I will keep a slower pace as well. She’s been my loyal companion for nearly fifty-four years and I love and appreciate her very much!
No, we are not chipmunks. Why the site-name “Chip and Dale”? Our names are Jim and Dale (Dale is a gal - my beloved wife); when people have had trouble remembering our names, I’ve suggested they think of the chipmunks “Chip & Dale” as a memory aid. Our last name Staelens, is pronounced with a long a¯; if you tell your dog to sit and “stay” and then think of the “lens” in your glasses you’ve got it: stay-lens actually Staelens, a very common name in Belgium where my father came from.
If my name Jim Staelens (Chip) sounds familiar, it may be you are recalling that I am the retired UAL captain who authored the book: “Jehovah’s Witnesses- The Good… The Bad… The Deceptive… And Worse! AN EXPOSE´.” I know there has been some discussion about me and my book (some supportive and some not, and that’s okay). I don’t have a thin hide, so no problem. If you have read my book you know that through-out my life I have taken credit for what I have done right as well as responsibility for when I have goofed up. I do in fact, right here and now, apologize if any of you who may have known me in the past have felt harmed or irritated by me, I am truly sorry. I would apologize to you, by name and in person, if I knew your actual name.
Any who have read my book are aware of the fact that I have survived one plane crash and died once (clinically) and have made many changes. I have had two heart attacks and two strokes and I am still alive. Dale may later post her responses to any questions some may still have. Staying married for nearly 54 years is no small task in this world, and it has not been without considerable trauma for both of us (my book explains).
If you have checked out my web-site ( www.JWs-exposed.com ) or my book you will quickly find that I have made many mistakes and needed changes as I have grown older; likely we all have (that is likely why many of us are X-JWs).
Since I promised Dale that I would try to take a slower pace (what else can one do when he is in his 70’s?), I’ll quit writing for now and try to answer some of the questions or comments I have noted on this forum, at a later time. I have no bad feelings toward anyone who posts on this site. I truly respect everyone’s right to his or her own feelings and opinions - a constitutional as well as a scriptural right.
Thanks for reading this introduction.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Chip
