hey folks,.

i'm wondering if you all could help me with my next video that i want to put up in the next couple of days (though i'm hoping for tonight), i want to come up with a list of the most prominent urban legends surrounding jws and then refute them whatever they may be.. i'm thinking there's the urban legend about the question on jeopardy that said the nwt was the most accurate would be a good one.

that one stems from an online powerpoint presentation named theological jeopardy and a book which was written comparing six different translations of the bible.

Hey folks so here are the ones I'm planning on doing. All of these I can find a history of the rumor and confirm if they're either true or not true. In all cases there is something documented to the effect showing either/or and funny enough most of the rumors are ones that didn't begin with JWs to begin with. Let me know if there are ones you would really want to see addressed or if there's one on here you think isn't worth doing.

1.) Jeopardy had a question on it once that asked what was the most accurate translation of the bible and the answer was the New World Translation.

2.) John Denver once asked all the Jehovah's Witnesses in the audience to leave the concert.

3.) Oprah once kicked off a guest that insulted Jehovah's Witnesses.

4.) A sister went to the home of a serial killer and was spared because "someone was standing behind her".

5.) The risks of bloodless surgery are far less than receiving a blood transfusion.

6.) JWs have the lowest percentage of criminals of any religion. (JWs are the most moral religion)

7.) The Pope said that Jehovah's Witnesses were the right religion and not Catholics.

8.) Dwight D. Eisenhauer was raised as a Jehovah's Witness.

9.) The only people who critisize the religion are people who were wronged by the religion.

I have said it before and I will say it again....THEY ARE LIARS.

Someday proveable truth will come out.

I don't know how much more provable it can get, the producers have denied it and a searchable online record shows that it is patently false.

j-archives.com I believe is the site that has a list of every single question ever asked on Jeopardy since it's inception. If you type in "New World Translation" into the search you won't find anything.

That is not a myth. I heard it with my own ears and fell out of the chair!

If you google New World Translation Jeopardy and Urban Legend you will find a letter someone received from the producers of Jeopardy stating for the record that this question never was asked and it was never an answer. They stated that they get this question quite often and they assure the writer of the question that it never happened.

So if you remember when it happened you seem to contradict the archive of the show from the beginning and the producers of the show itself.

I'm thinking there's the urban legend about the question on Jeopardy that said the NWT was the most accurate would be a good one. That one stems from an online powerpoint presentation named Theological Jeopardy and a book which was written comparing six different translations of the bible. However confirmed by the producers and archivers of Jeopardy questions that it never happened.

There's the John Denver myth about him telling all the JWs to leave his concert, which stems from an incident where he told the audience "This next set is rather patriotic so if you're a JW this might be a good time to head to the bathroom or the concession stands."

There was also one about a guest on Oprah bashing the JWs and her standing up for them saying that several worked for her and asked the guest to leave. Apparently it was supposedly a Johnny Carson myth originally and it was about Mormons.

I would also like to address the myth about bloodless surgeries being less inherent risk than having a blood transfusion with the statistics on how many are actually infected adversely from blood transfusions vs the amount of people who die from not having blood transfusions.

So if I could have your help, are there any other really prominent urban legends about JWs that can be refuted, and if you could point me in the direction of where they can be refuted that would be great!

I took the "Elders educating doctors" more so on what JWs can and can't accept or telling older doctors some blood alternatives they may not have been aware of. I don't think they would be educating any doctor on anything in life in general.

they started this after the 75 and 2000 failure.

It seems he's not really making responses to my response videos. I thought forever about just coming on and asking a simple question without all the talking that I normally do, then I realized that it could technically go anywhere unless I narrowed the scope. That's why I wrote out long responses to lead up to the questions.

The point of the second video is to show that it's not a cut-and-dry conscience matter because there are all sorts of little rules involved in which portions can and cannot be transfused and it was to also show that JWs are being kept in the dark about what makes up blood as I'm pretty sure all the things that I mentioned he's not too familiar with or he would've mentioned it in his response.

I have to say, I'm no more skilled than anyone here in debate, I just have alot more practice thanks to all the comments on my videos. :)

Wow, TD you know far more than me and I thought I had to look at this from all angles. We never really got into blood in college, I only took a basic Anatomy and Physiology course though.
