You make a nice fuzzy point, which pleasantly surprises me. In my experience many men, especially elders are not warm and fuzzy. Having a hope about a benevolent invisable being may possibly make us feel better. Having a hope that things will improve for the better in our lives personally and in the future for mankind is a positive omptimistic view to have.

I cannot say at this point whether or not I agree with your point. I do like warm and fuzzy however. I will mull over your point, it is worth the time.

I think science has great potential to help some JWs see the flaws in the deeply anti-scientific Watchtower.

You have an interesting view that the WT is anti-scientific. I my possibly still indoctrinated state, I feel that when the publications mention science the accuracy from believing biochemists and physicists is pretty accurate. Maybe quotes from credeible world famous scientists have been spun to fit their point they are trying to make, but personally I have found no flaws in the actual science.

Addimitidly my knowlegde of biology is weak, so if there have been basic flaws I don't think I would have noticed.

So cofty, if you get a chance could you site a particular article or publication that you feel was anti-scienfic. I would be interested in reading it again with a more critical outlook

j-nat thanks for telling me, I have got it going on. It feels good that others view me to have something to contribute. Being a girl scientist (using the word loosly) is difficult in a predominantly male world.

What I found particularly nice about this thread is that although cantleaves knowlegde if this topic is more extensive than mine, he did not dissmiss or undermine my knowledge, and freely admits his lesser experience to mine in other areas. This is truly refreshing.

Hmmmm I was wondering how you got two degrees in four years. Ahhaa, you went to uni as a JW. Love to hear that story, thats probably why elder suckup didn't like you as he was dumb and you were educated.

I am sorry to say like a lot of biochemistry I downloaded this stuff into my short term memory for the inevitable exam question and then promptly forgot it!

hahahaha!!!! lol!!!!

I was the same with physical chemistry, my teacher was a nutty professor. I just learnt shrodingers wave equation and regurgitated it in the exam. At least you remembered was a positron is (another thread). Phys chem was a headache for me.

Thanks for your concern. I wrote three big posts on this thread, so my day did get better. I love chemistry, its sets a fire in me, thankfully my kids both love science too, but my daughter is better at physics.

cantleave-thanks very much for addressing those points I made very interesting, and it's all coming back to me. I have never heard of chiral chomatography, sounds mind blowing.

I have used a TIMS (thermal ionisation mass spec) ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasm mass spec) to separate uranium isomers, and the general common chromatography instruments like HPLC ans GC (high pressure liquid chromatography) and (gas chromatography).

By the way, I saw you responded two days ago but my computer seems to be playing up and I am just reading your post now

Credit card donantions are part of the nu-lite. Listen obey and be blessed (LOABB). When there are pictures of paper donations in the washtowel, all publishers sing the tune in their head of LOABB.

When they donate they feel warm and fuzzy they are being obedient. What a load of LOABB I say
