Like all religions, it gives people hope, which makes them happy. It also creates a closely bonded community. Besides that, not really. The good doesn't make up for the bad in this case.

by adjusted knowledge ini like so many americans left my parent's house as soon as i could (age 19).
i would see them maybe one or two times a year for the next ten years.
when i hit thirty and got married it was even less frequent.

Time's already going by pretty fast, and I'm 16. Only cause I'm locked up in my house and don't have much experiences in my life now :l

Is their a new holocaust in the making ? Are jews being made the scapegoats again ?
by smiddy inmass immigration in the world "seems" to have led to a rise in anti -semitism in the west.
france now has more than six million muslims.. germany now has four million muslims.
the netherlands has almost one million muslims .

I think we're forgetting that most muslims aren't religious extremists, and harbour no resentment against anyone. I'm also pretty convinced that middle-eastern muslims (which are generally more othodox), may hate jews because the Zionists esentially took Palestine from them.

So recently I've been preparing to move out of my parents house, and I've been seeking social assistance. At my appointment, my social worker asked me for references to people who know about my situation at home. I know probably nnone of you guys know me too well personally, or my home life, but I know ALL of you guys have been through similar situations. I'm not quite sure how many of you guys left the truth at a young age, but you guys still know what life as a JW is like. So I'm wondering if any of you guys will be willing to help me, and get in contact with my social worker. It'd really help a lot, and I would be extreamly grateful. Thanks

How do you feel ethically about the Governing Body?
by runForever inif something terrible were to happen to the members of the current gb would you feel bad?.
-
bobert
Honestly, I probably wouldn't stictly because I don't know them personally. Also depends on what were to happen to them. Whether they consciously think about what they're doing in regards to how they're manipulating people, or negatively impacting people, they are horrid people. So in short, no.

I've heard a lot before about the WT monitoring sites, and trying to disfellowship people on apostasy. Not sure if this actually happens, or to what degree they do it.

Atheists lose latest legal fight 'In God WE TRUST".
by jam inok folks i'm an agnostic.
but to remove the motto from our.
currency is a little too much.
-
bobert
I really don't care what's on currency. Considering most of the US consists of christians, it's not really the worst idea to have "In God we Trust" on money.

What's more to blame- the WT or the bible?
by keyser soze inaren't they both just differen't variations of the same lie?
the only difference is the scale on which their impact on humanity is measured.
that, and the fact that the bible can exist without the wt, but not vice versa.. but at the end of the day, what's the difference between claiming to be the inspired word of god, or the one true religion?

Both are pretty to blame IMO. Good thing is we don't live by the mosaic law.
